Spring Brown Caddis - Flytying with Onymphs

My 100th video. 8 minutes of fly tying with a heavy Eastern European accent and some smooth jazz.
Inspired by some caddises that showed up on a slow spring afternoon, and changed my day, the Knottail CDC Caddis is a great one to tie and try when waters warm up.

I'm pretty impressed with this technique. Is it new? Looks great, I'll certainly give it a try. Just a personal thing, but I would move the whole dressing a tiny bit back down the hook. It's getting pretty crowded towards the eye. Maybe it's just me, I get uncomfortable if I get near the eye, and I'm running out of room to tie stuff securely and make a decent whip-finish.

Pretty tie...but, damn, those nail clippers are not the right tool for the job.

Lol I agree I felt helpless want to jump through the screen and help you out lol but get tie and ended up being very neat!!

Haha thanks, I don't think I can go back to using scissors now, it has been too long and I love my nail clippers. Also I would have to clean my desk to find my scissors...and I am not ready for that.😅
