Hey bros, my 15-year-old nephew is a huge fan of Sam and he is in surgery right now for a brain tumor they randomly found a couple of days ago. He's been in surgery for over 5 hours as I write this so all gymrat bros please send a prayer for Mason. I'm a middle-aged long time gym rat and he's at the beginning of his lifting career and we've been watching Sam together and talking about this cut and all that. I'm watching this right now because he would want to be checking it out himself if he could at this time. Anyway, thanks guys.

10:00 .... This was my friend between Junior and Senior year of High School. We both agreed to get up early every day and get after it to come back sexy and fit for Senior year. He showed up at my house every day and even dragged me out of bed some mornings. After a week I gave up and told him I can't get up that early anymore it's too hard. Well he came back to school looking amazing and I was still a fat shlub. Everyone was blown away at school and I was feeling like a loser. He ended up becoming a bodybuilder and fitness coach/PT. I'm 35 now and in month 5 of a body transformation. I look and feel the best I've ever felt and am really happy with the grind now. Starting to even see some abs pop out now for the first time in my life and did an 11 day water fast. Just sad it took me so long to figure out what my friend did at 17. It's never too late tho guys. You can achieve the body you want, just work hard. Thanks Sam, I really love the channel. 🙏

you have changed the way i’ve thought about working out, having a routine every day where I get in the car, listen to new songs loud on the way there, give it everything I have in the gym, and then walk out feeling like I am truly alive and happy, just makes me exited thinking about the next day I get to do it. I gauge how good my workout was by the fan speed I have to turn my defroster on in order to see through the condensation on my windshield on the drive home.

I lift because it’s the only place where I know my work gets paid for to the max of what I’m owed. Play games, get cheated. Lifting is real and you are your own limit, from your discipline, consistency, diet, sleep, dna, mental fortitude to take training to the dark place. And when you handle your shit, you get everything that’s owed to you. Nobody cheats you out of gains but yourself.

I lift in the morning at 630 am fasted unless it is a leg day. On leg days I'll eat 50g of oatmeal with honey and fruit. My work days are long and exhausting at times. Morning workouts are superior to evening workouts imo. Sometimes life gets in the way throughout the afternoon or evening. I'm better off getting the lift accomplished first thing. This way I'm prepared for whatever life throws at me on any given day.

I’m 3 weeks into lifting (26), and because I know my joints aren’t great (dad had lots of surgeries) I am focusing entirely on going slow and controlled for every rep of every set. Part of me knows for a fact that if I just went wild and threw weight around that I’d get all sorts of tears and rips and then I could not lift anymore.

If you put a plate under your toes when you do RDLs like you do with your heels with squat, you will get more hamstring activation and a deeper rang of motion. Also, keeping your knees a little more locked out and legs stiff will help with taking the glutes out of it. I like to think about it like the sit and reach test everyone does in elementary school where they force you to lock you legs out and reach out as far as possible. I always felt that test heavily in my hamstrings and you can try to replicate the feelings with a deep range of motion RDL.
@Ballywally99
@Ballywally99 Ай бұрын
Idk if thats exactly right. Doing that may just put more tension on your nerves which may cause you to feel a “stretch” like sensation, but the muscle will gain no benefit from it.
@donutpress1191
@donutpress1191 Ай бұрын
@@Ballywally99 It's right lol. I would do some reading on kinesiology and look at some studies about training through different ranges of motions. If you don't want to do that.... Then look at some of Dr Mike Israetel and RP Strength's content. Here is the key takeaway that you may have never come across before, training at longer muscle lengths tends to promote more muscle hypertrophy than training at shorter lengths. Also, you may want to read about motor neurons and how they interact with your muscles which is different than your nerves.......

Heavy sets is useless if your form is absolute garbage and if you can’t connect with the targeted muscle. But as long as you have somewhat decent form and are able to connect and feel the targeted muscle then going heavy will happen naturally as you get bigger and stronger. But just going heavy for the sake of going heavy is not the goal in bodybuilding.
