One cherished tradition on such days is making homemade fried buns, a treat enjoyed by all ages. Here's a simple recipe to bring a taste of this delightful tradition to your own kitchen:
Homemade Fried Buns Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 cup milk
Oil for frying
Optional Fillings:
Cooked ground meat (seasoned with your favorite spices)
Mashed potatoes mixed with cheese and herbs
Sweet fillings like Nutella, jam, or custard
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
Gradually add the milk while stirring, until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a bit more flour.
Shape the Buns:
Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
Flatten each ball with your hands or a rolling pin to form a small circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Place a spoonful of your desired filling in the center of each circle of dough.
Fold and Seal:
Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
Press the edges firmly to seal the bun, using a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
Fry the Buns:
Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (180°C).
Carefully place the sealed buns into the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pan.
Fry the buns for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
Remove the fried buns from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain off excess oil.
Serve and Enjoy:
Allow the fried buns to cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy them warm, either on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Such time & patience cooking & baking your family meals ❤ your family homeland is so beautiful & calm environment I live in the USA 🇺🇸 & everything is so rushed.
