I don't know why it's taken me so long to give a full tour of my suburban Chicago garden! But now that I've done it, expect monthly updates. I've been gardening in this space since 2004 and it was a challenge turning nothing but grass and compacted Earth into a space that brings people and pollinators so much joy.
There have been plenty of failures, plants that have come and gone and the list is looooong. It's all part of becoming. As my knowledge grows, so does my success and I'm excited to share this space with you with the hope that you'll be inspired to turn a urban/suburban ho-hum patch of grass into something that brings you joy and satisfaction.
Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5B, recently changed to 6a, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.

As always, thanks for your support and I'll see you in the garden!
