@Luke Brindax Well since the time I posted the comment above I have switched over to Captan-50 to control apple scab and pear scab. I think this year I skipped the liquicop and sprayed the stone fruits with captan-50 also. I have found Captan-50 to be a very effective fungicide. As far as fruit harvest goes I do it whenever the fruits are ready but I make sure to wash each and every fruit I process with soap and water and a sponge in my kitchen sink. Apart from any chemicals there is also other kinds of debris on them like dust and dirt and maybe even bird droppings also. So washing with soap and water is a necessary first step in all my processing.

@@wendydwan1475 No I haven't done that but I will start soon because I now have a bee colony in my home orchard and I absolutely refuse to use any insecticides. I have Neem oil that I purchased for this a couple of years ago but I never opened it. I will probably start using it this year. I still use liquicop for my stone fruit trees but for the apples and pears captan-50 works best. I am on the fence about using captan-50 as I think it might also harm the bees but we'll see how that goes.

@@caseroj6020 There's a video on you tube that I would recommend "Controlling scab and other fruit tree diseases". I used CAPTAN on my apple and pear tree this year after fighting scab for over 5 yrs with organic products, that just didn't work for me. my 2 trees now look better than ever. I would much rather prefer using an organic product but just haven't found anything effective that's reasonably priced. Gracias for sharing.

I do a mixture of Neem, liquid fish, and BioAg. Late spring I also apply Bt for caterpillars.

right now is your time. actually the best time is in the fall after leaf drop, but go for it now. lime sulfer is the best to me, but most will tell you choose chlorothalonil or a copper fungicide, lime-sulfer does not store well. even from the store it can be too old., but so many will be just fine. get them going now. You can use use liquicop, or lime sulfer. I alternate. I am so tired of leaf curl I switch it up. basically any will help right now. Some say that copper is not as effective. If you ask your local shop they may tell you what works best in your area. bottom line is get that on NOW. you really want it on before bud swell, and you may be too late. It won't hurt anything so get going. most people start with a copper type. If you have some sulfur or copper I'd get it going. anything. , I'd just get that on the tree asap. If it's early and your are they haven't started swelling, do another spray in a week if it's not already too late.
