Hi Ellie, this is shaping up to be a wonderful spring for you, reading-wise. I'm happy you're enjoying The Fifth Season, it's such a great trilogy, they've all received literary prizes and the world-building is so original, so unusual.

Hi Ellie, loving the sunflowers on your dress. Hope all is good for you. Im going to stay with my son on Sunday for a week as its his birthday on the 2nd. My reading slump has ended yay, I think the problem was I was feeling pressured to read certain books so I'm going with my mood now and I'm finally reading a book. The secret garden is a great book. Seanan Mcguires series is fantastic, a nod to Alice in wonderland which is a favourite of mine. The tainted cup is definitely of interest to me.Great list of books for spring. Take care.😊

Ah The Secret Garden! After I filmed my Spring TBR (should be up tomorrow) I realized I had a copy of it .. doh 🤦 😆 I found the beautiful Barnes & Noble edition in a Little Free Library last year!! And it's in perfect condition - I couldn't believe it! I was practically skipping down the sidewalk lol. I'm just going to include it on next year's Spring TBR! The perfect Spring pick! 🌼🍄🌷

Hi Ellie, hope you're well. I really enjoyed Drowned Country, I love Tobias so much, I think he's such a wonderful character. In our DnD group our Paladin couldn't think of a name so I named him after Tobias from Silver in the Wood. I'm also re-reading something too, it felt the perfect time to read the Monk and Robot duology again. The nature descriptions are perfect for this time of year. Hope you're having a wonderful spring so far.

Hello 😊 I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Drowned Country. I am looking forward to spending more time with Tobias. I love that you used his name for your Paladin! The Monk and Robot series is so wholesome. I do adore Becky Chambers! Thanks, I hope you are enjoying spring too. I feel like the weather is finally starting to change! ☀️

The secret garden movie was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I also enjoyed the book - it is a good one for spring. I want to read the first Emily Wilde this spring (probably in may). I just read Tress (my first Sanderson) and it was a fun read. Reminded me so much of Princess bride in the style it was told.

It's such a great movie!! I've heard mixed things about the book, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it 🌼🌻 I hope you like Emily Wild, it does have a very academic writing style (including footnotes), which doesn't work for everyone. But I really warmed to the main character and loved the banter between her and Bambleby! The princess bride is one of my favorite comfort movies, so I'm really excited to read Tress! Thanks so much for watching and commenting 💛

I also didn't think that Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow would be for me so I tried to ignore it but then the hype just got to me and I had to know what it was all about - I'm so glad I gave in because I really enjoyed it. Emily Dickinson is referenced a bit in the book, so I got a book of her poetry and tandem read it along with TomorrowX3. I also got MacBeth (where the line "tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow" is from), haven't read the whole thing yet, just the referenced part so far. Hope you enjoy it!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. That makes me more excited to pick it up because I have been dragging my feet! I'm not typically a fan of contemporary books but I am intrigued by all the hype. Oh interesting, I didn't realise the title was a MacBeth quote. I read that play in school, so it's been a long time!

Happy Reading! I hope I will get to Encyclopedia of Faeries book1 this spring and The Tainted Cup is also on my radar. I recently re-read Wizard of Earthsea with a book club and it was a great experience; the first time I read it (years ago) I didn't like it but all I could remember is that I didn't like Ged. This time around I have a greater appreciation for Le Guin's writing (chef's kiss) and a lot more empathy for Ged. Don't expect too much school of magic, it is a bit more like Tolkien, but you might recognize the seeds of Harry Potter in this very short book.

Happy reading to you as well 😊 I hope you enjoy Encyclopedia of Faeries. It does have a very academic tone (it even has footnotes) but if you don't mind that, it is a lovely story. I am very excited for Tainted cup, I really hope it lives up to my expectations 🙏 I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Earthsea on a re-read. I am.a little intimidated by that one for some reason, but really want to see how it has influenced the genre. Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🥰
