Spring tide on top of 6 weeks of flooding at Potter Heigham and Martham #weather #tides #floods
Hi everyone , welcome back to my channel.
In today’s local newspaper, it reports about Potter Heigham being flooded once again. To me, it seems higher than last time.
I went and had a look. The car park for Herbert Woods is flooded and the water level was getting close to the top of the flood barrier.
A saline surge is predicted for today so the saline barrier is in use to protect the fish . Due to the flooding I was unable to go over to where the barrier is to show you .
Further spring tides are predicted for this weekend. The flood wardens will be there, monitoring the floods and trying to stop the water going across the road to Lathams shop.

A few weeks ago you were at Breydon or Burgh where you pictured a sign which said that all of those marshes were once allowed to flood. But of course we drain those marshes now and have walled Breydon Water. I can’t help think that if this wasn’t done most of this flooding on Broadland wouldn’t happen. We have caused these problems…

You are absolutely right, I was. It was Burgh Castle viewing platform close to the Roman Fort. I never said anything in the video but I did show the diggers on the Marshes. I’m told it’s a new area for flood water directly off Breydon Water.

I am so glad they have the barrier to prevent the salt surge to protect all this fish etc. I hope this wind will assist in drying off some of the marshes as there is no heat to do so. It is good to see some of the land amongst all this water!

Thank you for your very kind words 😊 It was bitterly cold this morning , down at the marshes and surrounded by water. I’m not actually sure how I managed to film anything. I think the Swan family had the right idea, sheltering from the wind in the dyke. Enjoy your weekend.

Wow I saw the picture at Surlingham Ferry yesterday - the water came all the way up to the door. There is alot of talk of overwhelmed drainage and sewage systems at the moment, and in some areas, that is adding to the problem - either way, I still forsee a hosepipe ban on the horizon somewhere if the water companies get their way ;)

Oh most definitely, 100% 🤦🏻‍♀️ If you’re on Instagram, have a look at the photo I posted last night from Great Yarmouth. The water was so high it was almost reaching the top of the path level. This was an outgoing tide when I saw it. Scary volume of water when it’s like that.

ohh dear , it does'nt seem to be getting any better does it ? , there's another utuber who went down to horning the other day in his all in one waders , & the water came right upto his waist at the ferry carpark, that's frightening .

hi lisa, i think you will have this flood water for some time to come as the ground is so full of water and theres no heat in the sun when it does come out. your videos could be used for future generations to show them how fragile the planet is. i hope you have a good weekend stay safe from leonard.
