Definitely is not a toadfish. It’s a grouper of some kind. Look up oyster toadfish they have flatter heads

Guys please stay alert coming down to corpus area costal bend area. We got a young man missing with no trace of him. The year before we had another young man go missing hiking with his dog. An 3 years ago we had another young person female college age go missing. Be aware of people in area if your out here fishing or hiking/jogging on your own. I get up before sun rise or stay out till 2 am to fish local spots here an it can be pretty deserted . Yall don't need a permit to carry in tx if your visiting out of state. Stay safe out here.

They are also thick on the quintana jetties in freeport. Went two days and caught 4 man limit in less the. 2 hours

Oyster toadfish was that ugly looking one. They have some poisonous spot near the gills. I never touch them if I can help it
