Another reaction video! This time with everyone's favorite sea sponge! I'm open to doing more reactions of Death Battle in the future. I love seeing what the animators come up with, and it's especially fun to see them having fun on an episode like this.

Yeah Zack has this really awesome style where he animates on 2’s and 3’s pretty consistently, and it’s easy to pick up especially when compared to a shot with a bunch of motion tweens.

Great Neptune indeed. Didn't think I was gonna laugh as much as I did on my first watch-over. Also, casual reminder the only characters faster then Spongebob on DB are Wally, Reverse Flash, Xeno Trunks, Archie Sonic, and Archie Silver.

Who are only considered faster because their speed is quite literally faster than the sheer cosmic idea of speed even goes They are so fast that they cannot be calculated as fast

Trunks isn’t incalculable speed, but that’s the only incorrect statement. Also he holds one of the highest strength feats as well, casually destroying the universe in such a way it becomes a piece of thread. The only strength that truly beats this are the technically incalculable feats like potential max strength of Dragon Ball characters, and Superman lifting infinity alongside Heracles and Sun Wukong.

I love the animation and it’s a overall good episode but this is the first ever death battle which made me feel sad and really bad for Aquaman. Like the way they were just taunting him from the beginning😢

Yeah I'm not entirely sure their reasons for the match. Granted I never really thought about the match ups nowadays, I just come for the cool fights and music and hope they deliver on that. I can think of two reasons for the match up. Either it's been a long running one in the communit and they figured they finally do it and thought "Well he's from an old school cartoon, so maybe he's done some crazy bullshit." and then when they did the research for Aquaman, they saw that, yes, he is indeed kinda lame. But because they already chose the battle and approved production on it. They just went forward and hoped people would get a good laugh at the animation. Or, they just did it as both a semi-joke battle and a fun battle to just do jokes, focus on script and screen writing, and just well, have a good fun time. Which I can appreciate. Hence why I loved this battle. Tho this fight does make me wanna see Spongebob vs. Popeye. Cause they're both soo OP, and when you think about it, there is some similarities between the two given their animation styles, themes and that they both take insperation from life in and on the sea. Either a fight, or a sick fan battle track from Brandon Yates. Which btw, highly recommend listening to, as they're really good and you get to hear more of Brandons amazing musical talents. Since the Halloween Special is Jason vs. Micheal. Highly recommend the fan track "13th Halloween" to get you hyped, it's honestly really good, and makes me want them to use it as the official track.

I imagine they did SpongeBob vs Aquaman as a real comparison at first and then used Super Friends Aquaman since he’s “the lamest” to tie it into the story of him wanting to be a hero. And yeah, I’ve worked with Brandon before! I was lucky enough to get him to score a piece of music for my short film “DOUBLE TROUBLE!” A few months back. The track is uploaded on my channel, it’s called “The Atrocity of Atro City.”

This isn’t the first time Whiz has died. He died like three times in Blake Belladonna VS. Mikasa. He has multiple clones and none of them know of they’re the OG

Yeah, it was just really jarring, especially when I thought the punchline was just “oh look, creepy doodleBob wiz.” But no, the punchline is him getting murdered.

Yeah this one is pretty hard to place on my ranking but it’s probably pretty high up. Like 5th or 4th best. Probably low 9/10 You should do more reactions I really like them

I plan on at least doing a reaction to the next one! Michael vs. Jason about to go real hard 😎 And yeah I liked the episode, don’t think it’s near the top for me but it’s a really fun and unique take on what they normally do.
