In a 1v1 fight Light would destroy Walter but in a cat and mouse game of Light without his memories trying to catch Walter would be cool or Walter trying to sell his meth without facing death by Kira even though Light could probably figure out who Walt is pretty easily

Dead Battles out of business so you hire them I guess. Also, Heisenberg would have a pretty huge advantage over Light as long as he can't figure out his real name.

Disclaimer 1: This is *NOT* meant to be a diss towards anyone who likes the matchup. Just my *TOTALLY PERSONAL* opinion on it. Disclaimer 2: I don't know much about Light's and Walter's abilities because I don't watch Death Note or Breaking Bad very much outside of a few clips (I still plan to watch both, though), so what I say here will probably be wrong and due to my sheer ignorance. If something comes off as wrong to you, please tell me so that my overall opinion can be as correct as possible. My overall question about the matchup is: Isn't the interaction potential too limitated? I mean, Light is a shadow dictator (ergo, he operates mainly from behind the scenes), while Walter (while keeping his identity secret) has no qualms with facing enemies face-to-face with firearms. I don't see how these fighting styles can blend well. The best kind of interaction I've found so far is Walter wandering around to track Kira down while Light searches on Internet for anything that could lead to Heisenberg's true identity, which would be just very boring to watch. Also, given where they come from and live in, one of them should be moved either to Japan or New Mexico, and thus would be out of their natural element. Honestly, I have my other opponent for Light (Shinichi Kudo/Conan Edogawa from Detective Conan), which I think works way better when it comes to interactions. As for Walter, I have no idea. Some of the matchups I found for him have some issues that pretty much ruin them for me.

Um excuse me what? The perfect versus matchup yeah how about not even close Light yagami vs jigsaw even as the type of matchup you just presented makes more sense than Walter White versus light yagami. The main problem here is not even that both of these guys are humans or that this would mostly be a battle of intelligence, but it's more so that how do you adapt a versus matchup like this? nobody has ever truly attempted it is it possible sure but both characters have next to no fighting ability maybe they've gotten into one fight maybe they've even used weapons at some point but they are not really Kombat fighters. Even at the very least with light vs jigsaw you could portray it as light having to navigate one of jigsaws games. Basically with this fight you would have to do a lot of heavy lifting you would basically have to make stuff up. You're telling me to sit back death battle cook and trust them death battle can't write stories worth a crap most of the time they write nothing at all and no stomp matchups are almost never acceptable even if you think you have a good narrative to tell. So no I would not trust death battle to tell me a story because when do they ever tell us a story they rarely ever do it and if they do it's a very basic story with a very basic narrative that a child could comprehend.

This wouldn’t be a fun 2 minute death battle, but like a season long mental battle of wits with each other.

I actually knew Green Goblin was going to win from the start because he's stronger than the Joker and he has more technology joker may be a master planner but in the end that just wasn't enough to beat the Green Goblin in the end

What about Heisenberg vs. Columbo? That sounds like it would be hella interesting. I'd watch it.

The best way to illustrate this fight it would be an analogous horror in the style of mr manticore that showcase how they conflict starts and evolve, slowly turning unto a normal animation in the final confrontation between kira and walter.

Light would easily defeat Walter. That said, if Light were to kill Hector Salamanca, I could see a fascinating "enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation emerging between Gus and Lalo, as Gus obviously wanted Hector to suffer and die on his own terms while Lalo loved his uncle. Both would want revenge, leading to Gus opening up Los Pollos Hermanos restaurants in Japan as a cover for investigations while Lalo provided direct oversight on things while also faking his own death (using his body double) and operating with the name Jorge Guzman to further insulate him from the Death Note. And meanwhile, their last ace in the hole if things get too rough is Saul Goodman, who may not seem like much on paper... but if there was even the slightest possibility that Kira was responsible for Marco's heart attack at the end of season 1... all bets are off.

Nazo was able to go toe to toe against super sonic and super shadow with all seven emeralds in bis base alone Mecha sonic with only four emeralds and even with 7 seven shoulf have difficult time fighting nazo

My personal demented Light Yagami matchup has always been the serial killer Kira (who is secretly light Yagami) vs. the serial killer Kira (Yoshikage).

I refuse to stop gunning for Light Yagami vs Detective Chimp. Not because it’s, balanced or anything, but because Detective Chimp fucking sweeps this fight and the atomic-level breakdown that Light would have upon being beaten by a chimpanzee in a Sherlock Holmes hat would be magnificent to behold, and I honestly think Light might just kill himself after that. Detective Chimp is one of *the* worst matchups Light could find himself against, and if you’re not already familiar with him you probably have no idea why. First of All: Detective Chimp is one of if not *the* best detectives in the DC Universe. Like, Batman will go to Detective Chimp for help if he’s stuck with a case. More than that, Detective Chimp is deeply linked to the world of the occult. He already knows that magic is real, and so he’s perfectly equipped to make the jump from “Mysterious Serial Killer” to “*Magical* Serial Killer”. Second: Light can’t use the Death Note against Chimp. Not just because of the rule about it only working on humans, which I tend to ignore anyway because it’s pretty clearly meant to stop the Note being used against Shinigami in specific, and so I think it’s fair to assume that it would work on sapient, non-human species mortal species if any of them existed in the Light Note universe. No, the reason that Light can’t kill Detective Chimp with the note is that Detective Chimp’s real name is *in chimpanzee.* Even if Light heard it out loud - Which is already unlikely, because less than a handful of people have heard it to begin with, and all of those people who have heard it are human beings who can’t speak chimpanzee - Light couldn’t actually *write* the name, because there’s no written version of the chimpanzee language. The best that Light could do would just be to furiously scribble random monkey onomatopoeia in the Death Note while Ryuk lost his shit laughing in the background.

In what way is this a perfect matchup haha? I dont even understand how this is meant to be a match. Spoilers for death note and breaking bad. Light battles several of the worlds smartest detectives who basically have godlike intelligences, walts biggest rival at catching him is a normal dea agent haha. Plus walt makes dozens of mistakes constantly and is constantly cleaning up for it. After lights first mistake before he knew who he was dealing with he basically played 4D chess for years with ridiculously intelligent schemes, walts very smart but only doesnt get caught cause people didnt wanna believe he was Heisenberg, his brother in law wouldn't even suspect him. As much of a perfect show breaking bad is, walt is fucking screwed haha. People get close to walt 24/7 and hes constantly begging for his life, getting knocked out, tied up. Walts being used or under constant threat for the entire show, having mental breakdowns over the stress of it. Plus not even just intellenge wise, light has the death note, if we're giving them everything in their arsenal then light has the option to get the shinigami eyes to just immediately find Heisenbergs identity and do anything. He could just write major criminals names down and say they become obsessed with revealing Heisenbergs identify to the world and then within a few minutes tuko or another big villain would tweet being like this man named walt is Heisenberg haha. The levels light goes to to hide hus identity is ridiculous, putting tiny scraps of paper in his door and lowering the handle by a mile meter every time he leaves just to check if anyones been in his room while hes out. Erasing his own memory but with such a big plan that it comes back to him months later after he wins. Walt keeps his money easily findable in his house, drives his family car to the drug lab and many other dumb things haha. Walts main ways he outsmarts people are stuff like making a bomb and blowing them up or buying a gun and meeting some people then shooting them haha.
