That is amazing. I am 6'2" and I remember the very day I couldnt dunk anymore. I was 36 years old and one day just couldnt dunk it easily. After that day I was able about 20 percent of the time for about another month or so and then just couldnt get up there anymore. I went from a a 39 inch vertical in high school to a 27 inch by the time I was 35. Now after a broken leg at age 66 I am proud to say I have a 12 inch vertical. Aging sucks

Same happened to me. That is a very empty feeling. I shot up to 6’3” my senior Year of high school and never played organized ball, but spent much time my last semester practicing one and two handed dunks, which when I traveled through South America, was rarely seen, so I was treated like a celebrity on playgrounds. About a decade later I was back in the USA with a bunch of high school and college kids who were dunkaholics. I got a steal on a fast break and wanted to show them the old man still had it but the legs just didn’t respond. I realized my hand was not far enough over the rim and laid it in. Then I felt the pain in my tendons and that was the signal from God to stop.

Back then he barely eased it over the rim AT THE HEIGHT OF HIS ATHLETIC PROWESS. No way in hell this is real. Look for videos of Michael Jordan dunking NOWADAYS. They're the same age, Jordan is a foot taller, greatest dunker in history, and Jordan can barely get it over the rim now. Yet Spud Webb is flying, wtf ever.

that was funny.but not as funny as reading he's one of the greatest dunkers due to his height. he wasn't a great dunkel, he just had one of the highest vertical jumps.

I'm 6'1" and have never been able to dunk. I love how Spud just went back to doing what he was doing as if nothing had happened.

He was my hero growing up in many ways, I never got past 5-6 inches of height but I tried to run every day and do vertical leap exercises. I never did dunk but I bounced the ball off the rim at 15 and 16 years of age. ☹️
@ottob6326 жыл бұрын
I remember meeting and talking to Spud Webb during an exhibition game back in the 80's. I was standing eye to eye with him thinking how does he do it. Best part was watching Dominique Wilkins throwing down monster dunks while standing right behind the basket, absolutely amazing.
