OMG, both the "Starlight Anya" and "so the world is at peace" jokes made me crack so much. Anya is truly one of the most memorable little kid protagonists in anime and mainly because, spy missions and psychic powers aside, she feels incredibly real for how her mind works and her feelings are expressed.

I love anya but you should know the main protagnist of the show in the end is Spy Twilight not anya , you could even say tha she is the second most important main character because the story didn't started with anya but with twilight and the show is called spy x family not telpath x family!!

I wish there were more animes that so well captured what it's like to be a little kid. The only other one I've seen is Mitsuboshi Colors. Hilarious and heartwarming stuff like Spy x Family, but much lower stakes. No threats to world peace in that one, but a group of young kids are self-appointed defenders of their town, come up with imaginative games or go on little adventures, with a handful of adult and teens sometimes playing along and giving them missions sometimes.

They really did an excellent job in this anime adaptation! I didn't thought that Anya would mimic Loid, Damian and Desmond in her imagination when I was reading the manga. It added a lot more in the already funny scene, that was genius!

Really the mangaka is incredible lucky that his manga got an anime adaptation from two studio, clover works and of course the GOAT Studio WIT, and again this anime adaptation is already like a incredibly good faithful adaptation just like kaguya sama maybe even more!!

Bomb-dogs is an awful translation, it's not about sniffing out explosives. It's about strapping explosives to them.

Best thing we seen in this episode is Anya's true colors. People sayin she's gonna become a powerful superhero/superspy when she trained by an Assassin and a Spy but in fact she already is a hero

Anya is genuinely a hero. It is probably partly because of the scientists telling her that her powers were going to bring world peace, probably partly the black-and-white morality in her cartoons. But she is fully invested in Twilight's mission, she wants the same thing as him, and she doesn't hesitate to jump straight into that water not knowing how to swim herself, in an effort to save that boy. She could really use her powers for selfish reasons, and sometimes she does (mostly to get a family), but she's an active participant in this story trying to do the right thing for the good of everyone.

The Soviet program reportedly produced dolphins that were trained to attack with mounted harpoons, as well as “Kamikaze Dolphins” strapped with explosives that could bomb enemy ships in suicide strikes. So the idea of using dogs as bomb dogs isn't that far-fetched.

If memory serves, there had been a Soviet attempt to train dogs to run and look for food under tanks while wearing bomb vests, but it got scrapped pretty quickly because they only had their tanks to train with; the dogs wouldn't bother looking under non-Soviet tanks so the test program was scrapped.

Becky's dad owns a wepons manufacturer. Hence Becky getting a pink tank as reward. And it's intresting that the second cour of the season will start with an arc that feels kind of like a season finale.

I watched many reactions on this episode. Very funny that everyone says like ″Is it true or just a imagination?″ when Anya got a stella. The whole episode is full of Anya's imagination so that's why many people could be confused. 🤣 After the show, Anya's voice actor said ″I'm Atsumi Tanezaki, who played Starlight Anya″ on Spy x Family radio. That's hilarious! 🤣

Anya can read minds, which means, she can see everything that is going through your head at the moment: internal dialogue, images, feelings, etc. I don't know why people always assume it's limited to internal dialogue

First time Anya has used her telepathy on a subject not in direct line of sight too. I wonder if her power is growing? Maybe she will be able to send her thoughts to someone too eventually.

If she's this powerful at 5, I'm not surprised when she become someone like Professor X at adulthood. She hear and see their thoughts and also did feel the emotions. Also she can communicate with animals too, at least to a point calm them and send them to their shack.

Actually, she used it without line of sight in episode 1 too. She overheard Loid thinking while he was walking down the orphanage hallway

7:48 oh swimmer lol I thought she was gonna read his mind (because from the question about the difficulty, the water, and even checking, he seemed to have some anxieties about it) and comfort him because thats what i imagined for her in a hospital-- reassurance And then he fell in WHY IS HIS BODY SO DENSE And neither of -- Anya runs out of breath but doesn't...inhale/struggle, and the kid was sirprisingly still conscious despite not getting a good initial breath hold before falling 8:15 for the rest of this... 9:02 9:14 this is where I stopped but he literally can't let that slide She said "someone's drowning in the pool," and when asked to elaborate changed to "I'm gonna _train_ in the pool(that someones drowning in?" I guess he can brush it off as the drowning being the excuse) And then their next exchange is "I tried to swim" --> "I saw bubbles." Aww Twilight and Starlight 17:07 if you explain it like that, then it'd be like the same as...figuring out where a voice is coming from 18:16 what I thought she said it because he asked how she knew that and what she was. But if youre looking at the episode rn maybe... what would... He's responding directly to her before she looks down, then does her new plan

the "bomb dog" in Japanese is bakudan ken, which means they are used to carry bombs... i guess it's not okay to localize they as kamikaze dogs? though it's easier to understand what they do.

i don't think she can read like people in pain but i think she heard the kid thinking to his brain that he was about to drown or die so that's why she heard him but idk.

I love this episode and I love your reaction. I love how spy family overall. They show every side of the family dynamic without leaving every one of them. I also like that every character still has their problems because without that their dynamic will not be satisfying to watch. I appreciate and love spy family so much because of every character including the side and the background ones. Everyone is wholesome and so realistic. I think will not be loving spy family as much if every character didn't have problems. Also, you guys say that you guys want Anya to have a codename, well you guys can say that she choose her own nickname now hehe. It can be her codename. Anya Forger Code name : Starlight Anya Btw, I suggest you hear the full version of mixed nuts with full lyrics. The lyrics describe the catch the full story well in my opinion.

Maybe Anya wanted to be called Starlight because her father was called Twilight. The bomb dog was actually introduced in World War II, and there is a sad true story for dog lovers.

Hi! I’m a Japanese. Sometimes characters in Japanese mangas or Japanese animations say “Gaaaaaan!!” when they are shocked and sad (but not so seriously), and it sounds funny. Then, I wonder how you express it in English. Do you have similar words as “Gaaaaan”? “Oh my Gosh (God)” is used for it even in animations? If there is anyone who knows that, please tell me. 🙏

From what I understand Japanese has a vastly larger pool of onomatopoeias than English does. Off the top of my head i can think of the onomatopoeia "achoo" which is the sound of someone sneezing in English. So yes English does have similar words to "Gaaaan" but we don't use them nearly as often as in Japanese which reflects into less usage in our media.
