@5:51 Street prices $441.00 and $235.00. They are all the way up to $577.50 for the Drunken and $303.00 for the Spydie Chef. Thanks Joe!

Never held the drunken but have several Spydiechefs. The first one I sent back for lock stick. The second came back better, but still had a little lock stick which has worked its way out after a long times use. The third was a second generation model and functions great.

That’s frustrating. Mine is super smooth after carbidizing and some breakin. I wish they would move to inserts entirely.

@@ThePocketPerspective as a guy who actually uses his knife on the daily for work, I am 100% with you. I honestly can't think of what it would hurt.

The Spydiechef has quickly become one of my all time favorite pocket knives. Great video as always. Keep up the great work.

sucks that the spydiechef has that locking flaw. Don't know why they couldn't add the same features as the Drunken. For $250, that should be expected :(

If I were to buy a Spyderco it would be oe of the these 2...mainly for the blade geometry (i/e. no recassanub). Add being that that SpydieCef is part of the Salt series is a plus. Why not have that advantage/ "Lock Stick"--maybe they've worked that out of the Chef as of 2023?? A shame there isn't a S30V verion of the Chef...So many pluses...except for the pricing on both...just becaue they are collaborations....the Chf more in reach though still expensive at $365.99 CAD and the Drunken at almost $700 CAD (no way I'd ever pay $700 for a pocket knife LOL)... Pocket knives as a whole are a ad pricier than they should be IMHO....for what they are...vs buying a "high end" flashlight or firearm....for what is a "last resort tool"....

Have you done a video on your top 3-5-10 blade materials yet? If not I would be very interested to hear it and why... I am a big fan of high carbide volume non stainless tool steels for their combination of edge retention and toughness, but working outside in all weather, especially winter I do have a need for a good stainless. I also really like a thin BTE thickness. My Top 5 would be (That I own) 1a.) Bohler K390 1b.) Elmax 3.) CPM-M4 4.) CPM-REX45 ( HAP40 ) 5.) CPM-20CV/M390/CTS-204P 6.) CPM-S35VN Im really thinking about a Maxamet knife or a LC200N knife, I'm thinking about a Sage-1 Maxamet or a Spydiechef... being that we have 3 more months of winter, I'm learning on the Spydiechef... but I could get a Salt 2 Endela sized "work/beater" knife in LC200N and still get a Maxamet Sage-1. C'mon Tax returns! Thanks for the content, glad I found your channel !

I really like M4, but I haven't tried S90v yet. I've heard some people claim it is like stainless M4, is this a fair comparison?

I would say S90V has better edge retention, but not nearly as tough. M4 is a great steel as well. It’s up there at the top for me as well.
