do you have to use locktight? also what kind of oil did you use?

I recommend using one small drop of blue removable threadlocker, doesn't matter what brand really, on the pivot screw of the knife to keep the blade from loosening up on you! It all depends on your specific knife because I've had a couple models of the same knife come loose and some that didn't. I used a gun oil by the name of Hoppe's no 9 which is cheap and works well. I now use Knife Pivot Lube and it has been my favorite for a while now! I hope this helps!

Although I’m more of a para 2 man myself I do like the para 3 it’s sad that they don’t have left handed version

I love them both! I’d honestly carry both the Para 2 & 3 at the same time

Flytanium makes knife scales, among other things, and I think that if you buy their scales, or maybe even if you don’t, they can drill clip screw holes in any position you like. Most professional knife people that do custom work would probably be willing to add left-hand clip screw holes for a nominal fee. It’s a bummer that more knife manufacturers don’t make left-handed versions of their knives, I guess because it is not cost-effective, but for a few dollars and a little “leg” work, you can usually have what you want.

How often do you do this dissably maintenance?
@ohioknifelover2 жыл бұрын
So it depends on how dirty my work environment gets but I'd say every other month or every 3 months is a great timeframe to go with! I also have some compressed air and blow out the knife's handle and pivot a couple times a month to keep dust and debris out. If you'd like put a drop of oil on either side of the blade to help get some of the gunk out! I hope this helps!

You missed a key point that you would have encountered if you had taken it completely apart, as you would if you were replacing the scales. The pivot barrel is D-shaped. It doesn’t appear D-shaped, because the center barrel is not D-shaped. All that is D-shaped is the part that passes through the liner, on each end of the barrel, that only on one side, and TINY, and easy to overlook. It is also difficult to see the corresponding flat in the liner! That was the only part of the disassembly that puzzled me for a few minutes!
