Totally agree. Thank InThePocket and you for pointing out how to the Lynch clip snobs how overrated Lynch clip is with its sharp edges and thin flimsy material. I don't understand why so many prefer them over MXG which is far better and more selections are available. I think the Lynch followers just like the name because it's a verb to hang somebody. Let's face it, many knife enthusiasts have a bloodlust.

Not that it matters, but why would you be worried about people spotting your knife in your profession? Seems to me like it would be a reasonable tool of the trade in anyone’s eyes and nobody would think anything of it. I do understand not wanting it noticed in other situations though

@@Bisley1 great point. It’s just a tool. But because knives in general have a reputation of being weapons (even though they are usually not), a lot of people out in public have raised eyebrows on occasions when I had to whip is out in front of them to cut something, even though it is lawfully just in the context of doing my job. I guess they would worry less if it was a stanley knife that I pulled out of my pocket. It’s amazing how ignorance can lead to negative biases in perception. I am fully aware that it makes people uncomfortable. But that paranoia also led me to believe that they’d know exactly what it is if they can even see just a bit of the handle scales jutting out of my pocket. I just want to stay subtle about it. I guess that’s what gave rise to this obsession amongst knife guys for deep carry clips. It took me a while to break out of the paranoia.

Tim Gannon MXG are great to deal with too. Our Aussie Spyderco group has done multiple bulk orders from them. Super quick postage and they always have stock. (Orders were over $1000 worth).

They are both great clips, and both companies seem to be well run. Lynch fans seem to believe mxg stole his idea, but I don’t know enough to make any accusations or judgments, so I just give my pragmatic, objective evaluation.

InThePocket Wonder if they’d do a (cheaper) stainless steel line. I’d get more if they did. Might be more durable too. Can’t coat to much if BM give them away or sell them for a few bucks.

Yeah I noticed that too about the Lynch clips. They’re always sold out it seems. But MXG is in full stock and has way more selection to choose from. Different styles n finishes, a lot of cool options so I really like that.

I can understand that... I have no experience with either companies customer service, but hear good things about both. Honestly, mxg or Lynch, either way I’m happy. Personally, however, I do slightly prefer the mxg. Nothing against the Lynch...

I bet his products are good but he gives me a reason to try other clips, his always seem sold out so I can’t get my hands on one lol.

@@beeochg4 contact him directly using the email address on his site. I have never had to wait for a clip. If you go through a placeike Blade HQ that are always sold out. You have to contact him directly.

Yeah, I get it... I was looking at those clips for the shaman, and I think I will eventually get one, although I don’t hate the stock clip on that knife either.

It would be nice if spyderco would send us a HI-VIZ pocket clip. I have to always spend an extra 35 dollars before I can even carry a spyderco because it comes with knife shame and I carry hi-viz and proud.

Jordan I wish they just offered some options... hi-viz or not... just offer some deep carry or something. They just generally just have the spoon or the wire, and I wish they had wire on more stuff. I’m not really a hi viz guy, personally, but I can do it in some cases, like my Chaves for instance, and I have that anodized mxg I did acid green. I like it when it’s done right

@@inthepocket7405 if people want to hide their knives, then that is fine but I have a problem when people act like everyone should have knife shame with them. If hiding your knife is fashionable then fine call it a fashion but it is not a necessity to hide your knife. People sit there and cry about how companies do not recognize the knife shame fashion, then they act like the company is responsible for the money they spend on their knife shame.

BirdLaw 101 Thanks bud. Yeah man, it’s hard not to love that knife. I wasn’t really bringing the pm2 in for comparison, I just didn’t have my Lynch clipped Para3. I haven’t tried that cut away Lynch clip, but I worry about that thin part at the top... that it’s going to dig in ergos wise, and it will be more susceptible to bending. I don’t know anything about mxg stealing his design. They look similar, but so do most loop over deep carry clips, and I can’t really attest to Casey Lynch on a personal level, since I haven’t really felt with either company past using they’re clips.

What are the HI-VIZ aftermarket clips you are talking about? The actual brand HI-VIZ? I’ve never seen them.

That is the St. Nick’s exclusive, and they are pretty hard to find. If you do find them, they are priced extremely high. St. Nick’s has been coming out with some different models this year too, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get on their mailing list. I’m sure you could dye them as well, it you might have to play with different colors and times to get the right color.

It takes like 2 minutes with some old sandpaper to give it a more brushed/polished finish FWIW.

@@macmiddlebrooks1and maybe a half hour- an hour of time to polish and flame or electric anodize the metal if you want a color finish. At that point you can also put on a much more custom finish, something that would cost $100 if you bought it like that. $20 and some KZfaq research you will have the most banging pocket clip
