I beat every level except the flight levels but I just finished crystal flight so I'm actually thinking it's possible to get 100% I took a day off trying and I'm starting to get a hold of it.

This walkthrough for this level actually was effective enough for me to complete. I tried it my own way a few times. Plus I got the achievement "I Believe Its Time For Me to Fly" where you must complete Wild Flight without touching the ground. Thank you for this simple walkthrough!!

The Indie Diary No. Not any more. Difficult is one thing, brutal timing, ridiculous flight paths and shit controls are another. This just sucks. It took me longer to complete these shit fucking levels than the rest of the game combined. Fuck them into oblivion.

Wow! Same for me. A little more than an hour trying. When I was chasing that last boat down, I was just mashing the O button in the hope that I was close enough to burn it. Luckily, I was. Whew!

Finally i beat it on 1 minute 25 seconds left. Just went for the arch first, and boats, when i got to the second puddle of boats, i ignored arches, and roasted the escaping boat to the left river. Then proceeded roasting that second boat puddle for archs, and boats. Then i went for chests, and planes. Easy peasy no tutorial! first time i do it without tutorial this good.

Leaving the first chest for a bit later makes it a little easier since you'll be lined up with it when you start going for gates and boats.

As someone who played and beat the first game (along with the other two) before the remastered trilogy came out, these controls feel exactly like they did on the PS1. It was a little more appropriate then, but even so, the controls aren't "that" bad.

@@MrGuitarmanjustin It's all good, my dude. I can sympathize. I actually liked the flight levels a lot in Spyro, but that still didn't keep me from wanting to throw my controller. The only game that actually succeeded in getting me to do that was Crash on the PS1. UGGHHHH.

@@richardsinclair7661 Yeah I had so much fun with the Ignited Trilogy though. The original Spyro is a game I grew up playing and it holds a special place beside my heart. It was really cool to revisit it this way.

@@MrGuitarmanjustin Same here. I have fond memories of playing them as a kid. Barring controls that feel a little slide-y at times, and some animations that look a bit wonky, I think the Reignited Trilogy is a fantastic and faithful remaster.

I've been watching someone else's videos and struggled my way through (struggle, a word which here means "I have been swearing continuously for a dreadful long time"), found your video and my god... it is so much better to do this with a voice explaining to me what they are doing. Sure, it is still hard to take into practice, and I failed many times, but this has been very nice; I did not even swear every failure. Thank you.

Listen, I've already somehow managed to fully complete the flight simulator levels and their challenges in the original games, but for first-timer greenhorns (and even experienced veterans), those levels were arguably the most frustrating ones. There's no leniency for error, simple mistakes could cost having to start over from the beginning and that could get easily annoying after several attempts. While the controls are supposed to emulate planes, it still throws people off with the X-axis being normal but Y-axis being inverted. Doesn't help you can't change it, either. I'm not saying the challenge needs to be removed, but there has to be more room for forgiveness. If they could add having Sparx being able to bloodhound you to treasure, I'm sure they could have made him be able to guide newcomers around flight levels.

I thought all four were pretty easy except for this one, which took me a million tries. Heck, I got Night Flight on the very first go, and Icy Flight took around 15 attempts. I couldn't do this route for some reason in terms of dexterity, so I started off with a doubling of arches and boats, then chests, then planes.

You can press R1 to do a loop instead of turning all the way around. L1 will do a loop but send you back the way you came.

There is a faster route 1:14 if you do the arches and the boats at the same time leaving the two chests

2 years late but here is a more optimal route: - First take the arc on the left and following the low altitude take a whole circle and with it 2 moving boats (don't take the chest) - follow the video as is - Once you come back to the starting area (with pure water) take the final chest - Now go fly against the boats and take the arcs in the process. It requires a bit more handling but you'll never have to choose between boats and arcs. They always line up nicely and the two boats you took in the beginning also contributed to that.

Almost fluked it on my "recon" run as I like to call it, just checking where the targets are etc. Managed to complete it in 1.29.03, then saw your route and got it down to 1.20.01 😁

Going through the tunnel before the last 2 chests made it so much more difficult. Got it my first try getting the chests firsts then doing the planes.

I really like Spyro but as a kid I never did all the flight levels because it was the worst for me. I’m going for 100% and I can’t move on to the next flight level because wild flight is a nightmare. After many failed attempts of my own path I followed someone else’s path for like 70 tries and still I failed. I managed to get really close to completing but never succeeded. I found you video and did it after a few tries. It’s definitely easier than the one I was following first.

In all honesty for me personally the first flight level was the hardest because the planes had no real pattern. This one was easy if you follow this vid. You can even miss items as you have plenty of time to do multiple rounds and get everything. Did it first try. Nothing hard about it tbh.

He started with the gold chests first then, moved onto the planes & so on. This was so fast & helpful!!! Thank you so much. btw a tip: for everyone following this flightplan, if you follow the tunnel (when you destroy the 4 planes), then turn right AND NOT take the two chests, yet folllowing the flight path that leads you counter traffic in the path of those remaining airplanes, after which you go after the two remaining chests (before entering the tunnel towards the boats and the arches), then this will cause you to loose about 4 secs on the clock, and you will be able to take out more boats AND arches in the same run, instead of choosing either a boat or arch at times , it really works, that's how I did it !!

Thank you for this guide! I did the airplanes and chests first similar to your path. When I exited, instead of going right, I went straight. I don’t know exactly what I did, but it eventually worked lol I also wasn’t perfect and had to take some extra time to get something. But there is a little room for error on this one. Maybe ish haha

The flight levels are so much worse than they used to be. The hitboxes will flat out not register, the controls feel like you're fighting it the entire time, and even the smallest mistake will fuck you over. These levels alone bring down the whole experience of the trilogy.

I swear this flight is more faster than the others and it throwing me off. Every other one like a 5 try max but this one ughhh!

Thank you. I played this on PC, and my controller is way too sensitive. I managed to get my first 100% and it was a 1:08.2.

This one is relatively easy compared to some of the other ones. There’s one or two in Spyro 3 which took me a good hour and a half 😂 it stresses me out so much

These stupid flight missions will be the death of me I spend about 20 to 30 tries on each one >.< I don’t know what I’d do without these guides I watch them and still fail This is my last one I skipped it because I hate the flight missions :( thank you for this it helped alot

I did it your way and got it thanks. I think this is the easiest way. For me the chests and planes is the harder section. So doing that first really helped. The arches and boats section is easier in my opinion

For everyone struggling with the boats (like me), go in the OPPOSITE direction of what OP does! They will sail towards you and you can kill em easy!

"I love flight levels!", said nobody. Gosh, they're the one thing that just makes me just want to get the game over with. Hate them in Spyro 2 even more. Other than that, I LOVE Spyro. ❤

This is the only one left for me to 100%. So easy to hit the water going for boats, or to miss those last chests when coming out of the tunnel then have to catch the planes without getting lost. Seems impossible but i thought that about the others and got those eventually. Hopefully next session!
