Is there a grill mesh guard to protect this thing? And were can i get it? Jl only shows bar like guard i need more protection than that.

@@cjon24s69 Those aren't SQL to begin with. Anything Under 500 watts is SQ. DD 2508 is the SQL 8 King for now until the new kicker drops

@@rmyrie5963 Ive owned the Q class L7 8s, Ill take an 8W7 anyyyy day over a Q class L7 8. Hell Ill take the DC m3 8s I have now over Q class L7 8s. And an 8W7 will outperform a DC m3 8, while still having better SQ. 8W7 may not be as loud as a 2508 but is still a great SQL 8.

They are not Sound Pressure Loudness like SKAR, Sundown, or etc…. JL Audio are Sound Quality Loudness and they are king hater…

I just got a Bolero box for my single cab chevy silverado. The box says it has .97³ of air space and ive seen these say the need 1.0. You think i can run these in that box? I have a JL 500/1V1 for them.

I have the original model but the spider is worn out, would you know where to find a replacement spider. I tried looking everywhere but can't seem to find anything other the a replacement voice coil or surround.

I’ve been to iasca world finals 18 times since 1995. I was a JL dealer for 23 years and got my product from them free when I competed. I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is nothing special about these. A skar sub that costs 1/8 as much sounds exactly the same. It’s the box. Not the sub. In fact I would rate JL in general as the worst brand I’ve ever used. Extremely overpriced for nothing special. All Chinese made junk. Amps included.

Unfortunately the people in very hi end home audio, who discern how the lows should be KNOW better. There's a reason why JL easily catapulted itself in hi end theatre, dislodging many heavyweights in the industry.

You're absolutely correct mate I work in car audio industry here in UK and I have in the shop that sub and I've tested for the price is not worth it it's just the name for example edge Xtreme 10 is half of the price and double the RMS and sounds amazing my opinion
