Not to be critical but that riser just seems crazy complicated. Is it for permanent set up or is it portable for gigs? It seems HUGE as well, looks bigger than some of the bar stages I have played on. I built one that uses no hardware to assemble and it goes up in less than 5 minutes. My riser is also more portable and a lot more compact torn down. I am afraid over time that your screen door latches will break and probably at the worst time when there is weight on it. I am 275 lbs and my riser holds me and my 5 piece Pearl maple kit without budging. I bought the plans from a guy in England. Instead of making it about 6x6 foot square, I modified the dimensions and made it 7x5 foot. I don't struggle with assembly like the guy in the video either, mine goes together smoothly. I routed my grooves just a bit bigger so they would not pinch but still fit flush. Of course he built it using the metric system so I bought a metric tape measure, didn't feel like converting. Eric - Not critical at all! I love to see what "the world" is doing, and do better stuff from there. I made this video so that someone else would be able to assemble it, not realizing that it would be public, so I thank you for the commentary! I actually had another riser, similar to the one in the ezee riser video. The one I have in the video here {which is actually me) was designed and built by someone with a construction background. There's always a better way to skin a cat (nothing against cats, as my drummer would protest). I appreciate sharing the other video; it also had links to hundreds of other drum riser designs!
