Watch how greater minor adjustments to the transmission dip-stick tube could cause overfilling trans fluid. Manufacturers design them as straight as possible not only for ease of maintaining unit but also accurate readings. I don't need to explain JC what over filling will cause. 1° could result in 1 full quart too much fluid. Love the channel for the variety of tasks and also the your methods; great job! I've taken apart many Chevy trucks like this. I find them fairly easy to work on. Though the Ford bronco sitting in holding waiting for me to take it apart I will obviously like much more

Don't have time for whole video now and know you don't like gm but this is a great swap. I have one in a 89 burb and 76 1 ton dump and 63 scout. Have done 3 others they are slam dunk simple

There’s an oring on oil pickup tube that causes low oil pressure if you have an issue once it gets hot

There are high mount AC brackets. Clutch fan is the way to go factory shroud works with it. Exhaust will be real tight at frame. I have just clearanced the 1/4+ inch to make work or have done cheap swap manifolds. Either way works. Cheers jc

Justin is right smart on chevy from what I seen of him so good help is appreciated. I ain't chevy nothing but that LS engine sure is a winner for the bow tie folk. I think just about everyone and their dog is going this route for even the family boat engines. When I watched Brent at Halfass Kustoms do this several months ago, I was taken then to the simplicity of this "computer nightmare" as I was lead to believe but for four wires, why buy a expensive wiring loom when those wires are labeled to what they are for and you can take out the rest. I loved my fords an would rather be seen pushing mine than be seen riding in one. That done said, If Ohio and neighboring states were not so highly corrosive roads, I would consider one today as the Cummins has gone computerized as they get newer. The twelve valve has kinda ran its course on popular swaps and will slow down some. I love diesel engines and my trucks .... great job JC Smith, who knows, as we age, maybe one or two of these once in a while to take the pressure off lifting a frame rail or eighteen speed is in order

halfass customs yanks chevys out all the time for his old cars an trucks builds also does all the wiring stuff if ya had any wants like cruse an ect i know ya know a lot just incase ya wanted more sources :-) i wish i could have done this kind of swap to my old 79 squarebody but i broke the frame behind the cab

I don't ever feel the need to question JC but I'm curious if the flex plate bolts got Loctite. We had a tranny replaced in one of our GM cube vans and the tech (for some reason) had the flex plate off and didn't Loctite the bolts with the reinstall. Took 10 months but some backed out, fell out and made a mess of things. The shop owner admitted they did not get Loctite but we also wonder if they were even properly torqued. Thanks for sharing JC.

I've had the power Steering pump reservoir Rust out

Jc that rear cover that the rear main seal is in loves to leak . There is an updated cover with bigger bolt heads that seals up better. It’s cheap as well. I build ls airboats and after a couple leaking I’ll never mount another gearbox without changing that cover . Oil leaks drive me crazy

Every time I watch these videos it makes me never want to buy an east coast car. Everything he drags in is a pile rust with some parts buried in it.

Do yourself a favor and don’t buy a cheap power steering pump. I put 3 on mine in 1.5 years. I’d go back with a GM or AC Delco one. The after market ones are complete garbage.
