Brilliant Dessouky. Huge mental strength to get through that in 5 games vs a mental beast like Momen. Feels like a turning point in Dessouky's career TBH.

When Dessouky is really on he’s my favorite player. Speed, balance, power, severity, finesse, etc. It’s beautiful.

Only real issue I think Dessouky used to have was getting unnecessarily emotionally bothered with calls by the umpires. If he can get over that and just remained focussed on winning without distractions he will be one of the greats. This match against Momem was a classic. Well played to both of them.

Yesssss!!! Dessouky you legend, finally!! Held it together brilliantly after fading away in the 4th. That's how you finish a match in style, bang, thanks for coming, soooo good!! Hope he can recover sufficiently and play an intelligent game against Ali or he will just be run around by Ali. Great to finally see Dessouky realise his potential and make a major final.

Dessouky reminds me of Asal, but more mature, and better.

He has Asal's power, but he adds to that better movement and better shot selection. The fact that he's not an arsehole also helps.

Really happy for FD...great squash...Momens squash is so attritional - I think he relies on those drops too much sometimes but Dessy was just too on form to not get them back. Great final ahead !

Superb by Dessouky - he really looks the part as a supreme squash player and his speed and retrieving are extraordinary. Momen also played well and his backhand drop control is something else as well as getting almost everything back. Abouelghar also played fantastically against Farag and it would be great to see either him or Dessouky in the world top three. The Shorbagys though missing in this tourney.

Congratulations to Fares! I never thought he was able to win anything because I didn't think he had a mental capacity to do it. Always thought he based his play on pure power but showed maturity . Respect

Should be a good final if FD stays sharp. AF won't play as many loose shots though so it will be harder work for him.

Dessouky is a crazy talent. Its crazy he's has not won more huge tournaments. His physicality is scary. I guess its the mentality eH?

The decisions were horrible against Farres, he has a point tbh and he xplains very well why he thinks the decision is wrong but as always...

There is no doubt Dessouky is a fantastic, talented squash player but watch a full match and you'll see every other point is a decision with him. It can be incredibly unpleasant to watch

Can be like that sometimes, but watch this match and you'll see that it was good free flowing squash and he actually had the majority of decisions go against him.
