Is good demo. How many steps you take after the split-step and what foot you end up on before striking the ball often depends on your height and stride length. Not everyone can bound like a gazelle the way Ali does

could be wrong but it looks like from the T - get back into corners (2 steps) back to T = 3 steps (inlcuding split step). to front wall (3 steps). T to side wall = 1 step

Can someone explain why you would be hitting a forhand sometimes off of your left foot and other times the right foot? When is it best to hit a forehand off of your right foot?

World #1 explains it right. Good players use both feet in all corners, the "optimal" foot. I have seen many coaches teach right-handed players to hit forehands only off the left foot and backhands off the right foot. Nonsense!

Can you explain why there is an optimal foot? Ive been told to hit forehands off left and backhands off right (yes I am a beginner)
