This will seriously make a difference and makes sense totally. I just realised there are just small changes that are needed to make a big difference in the game

I have been working on this literally for years. At the beginning of matches I do it right. But later tend to forget when getting tired or when things get tough. It does add a huge amount of time :-)

I love this, Jesse. I coach mostly beginners and preach this as one of the most important things to focus on for quick improvement. In fact, I teach my beginners to have the racquet head above the level of their dominant hand in the ready position on the T. What are your thoughts on that approach? I tell my players to watch the pros on KZfaq for so many things: movement, court position, contact point for different shots, serve speed and targets, etc. But ready position on the T is the one area I tell them not to model themselves after the pros. And that is simply because the pros hold their hands in a neutral position and the racquet often ends up parallel to the floor or even angled down.

Great video and thank you coach! One thing I do experience in club games is that very often club players are standing close to me so when I bringing up the rocket I need to be very mindful of not hitting or touching them. I know in pro games those would result in lets or even strokes but in club games some people are reluctant to call those. Over time it can be a bit frustrating :)

Mike Way and I think racket back is a more important and helpful advice, especially for my amatures. Most of them really need help to get the racket lagging in the downswing, all of them lack power. The key is allowing getting the racket down, then out. This results in the racket going forward. Really simple. One plane swing thought is so damaging. Watch all pros in slow motion and you will know. Even the pros does it differently. One size fits all is not good for all students.

Could you explain a bit further what you exactly mean? I'm curious to understand

@@kootenpvfor me, racket up might prevent the nr 2 of the 1, 2, 3 positions which Jessie is promoting.
