Rodriguez’s 2nd collision was totally inexcusable. You can see his legs keep charging hard after initial contact is made. I’ve only ever seen Palmer do that crap against Power. And it was ugly. Low low marks for Miguel.

Spot on. Rodriguez put Wilstrop there with his poor shot ... shoulda gone round him.

What?? Irrespective of Rod's poor shot - once Willstrop makes his shot he must provide a clear path for Rod and clear the ball

So when you’re standing in front of someone’s garage and they run you down to get in, I hope the judge makes your survivors pay the fine on your estate for blocking access to personal property.

@@timhicks3602 and if he doesn't then he faces a referee decision. The punishment should come from the referee not by being driven into the wall by Rodreguiz. He could, as many players do every day, demonstrate he is being obstructed, without totally over the top physical theatrics. If that was required, if would be an every day occurence.

@@timhicks3602 No one's questioning whether Willstrop blocked his Rodriguez's path, but whether the latter should have pushed so aggressively through him (he shouldn't have).

Question? If two players did get into a fight during a match, who would break it up? Or would it be a UFC event with racquets?

I once had a Match where the opposition team expected to beat us easily. I was playing no1 and we had already won the Match. From a bad shot in the middle I stepped back and in raising my racket with my hand I slightly touched my opponents face ! He walked off court (no shack of hands) and the whole opposition team just up and went home, not even socializing afterwards !! My claim to fame in my county and a good laugh that I alone made a whole team go home.

Every sport should have some fighting equipment near by and in times like this you tell them either we get the equipment and have a 3min round or you cut the shyt and just play. In 1 and 3, Rodriguez was just too violent. He should've given him a slight push while going for the stroke, which he should've and did get. In the 2nd, he was way too violent and was on the wrong line, and should've gotten penalties and the 2nd and 3rd times for too much physical contact.

Rodriguez's fault every one. He was clearly charging for the man. The first one was no let. The second could have been a let but due to his dangerous play no let and warning for dangerous play. Third Stroke to Rodriguez but dangerous play warning for excessive raising of the racket.

@babyhermann2000
@babyhermann2000 3 жыл бұрын
The question is not whether Willstrop is blocking, who btw is one of the fairest players on tour. This is about conduct and to what extent my opponent is ramming into my back or throwing the racket into my face, when I am in a vulnerable position. You face these situations so often as an experienced player that you can control them. This is at least bad judgement, if not intentional recklessness by Rodriguez.
