Unfortunately that puts the bar way too low. And the only reason it the accidents happen is because the bar gets to flexing a lot and it sinks into my back more and more as it gets heavier

And if u r squatting with full gear (squat suit and wraps) safer to go to a proper powerlifting gym. Train raw at home, and switch to equipped lifting a few weeks before comp.

@@scotpak100 ya I gotcha man I’ve played around with the set ups a lot and with the limited equipment I have and being alone the set up I have is the best I can do. And I would totally go to a powerlifting gym but I am a college student and I play a sport so time is pretty limited to do something like that unfortunately

Only issue I see here is him not going deep enough. Other than that, I've seen guys go deep with such a stance, kind of depends on body type, flexibility and overall strength. There isn't one, 'true' way to do a squat in regards to foot placement, so long as you aren't wrecking your knees and your quads are engaged.

That third squat had a stance so wide, his knees looked like they couldn't track normally around the box.

None of these were ego lifts, neither were these "squat fails", these were simple re-racking fails cause the hooks were too high. You definitely have the strength to lift that weight

Question, If you do plan to compete wouldn't it be better to lower the weight and practice depth cause I've seen judges not count a lift even after its lower than 90 degrees

I wish I could upload a video to show everyone a member of my quad tendon rupture recovery group blowing out both his quad tendons by doing that exact kind of ego squatting, and using even less weight. We see to say at the gym that you could put a CPR dummy in a squat suit and knee wraps and it could lift 225lbs.

I’m naturally stronger with a wider stance. But also I’m training equipped in a lot of these clips so the wide stance can help maximize the carryover.

I get it that lowering the hooks makes it too low for you. If it's your power rack, just drill a hole in between.

Your hook should be in front of your chest. Your squad started when you *can* stand still with the weight, so it doesn't make sense to have a hook in the highest point of your squad.

@Brooks Both lower the monolift attachments. If you think you can handle that weight you can easily squat it out of the cups a few inches at the start. If you use j cups like on the last one where you walked it out. Again, if you walk it out you can squat it out a few inches so lower the j cups. Or add another set of j cups just under the others.

@@JD83000 the thing about the mono lift attachment and my rack is if I lower it one hole it lowers the unrack an insane amount. Obviously I have thought of that lol. The other reason it’s an issue is that Texas Squat bars still have an insane amount of whip when weight gets heavy and the bar is just bending a bunch, which is why I can’t get it back in the rack. These are old videos anyway, it hasn’t happened it a while. Made some adjustments with my foot angle that have seemingly fixed the issue. Next step is to get an even stiffer 30kg bar

I wasn’t trying to rerack it when it dropped, my legs were just so taxed and the weight was heavy and I couldn’t take a step forward so in the clear minded state I was in I just decided to drop it lol

To be fair to the guy, even if his true max is 50 pounds less than that.... still far far more than most weightlifters will ever squat in their life lol So basically, even if we deem the 'stance' a bit off, it is still building his strength massively.

I get it I used to be very anti gear before I tried it and still overall prefer raw. For me it’s two things: the adrenaline rush you get from having that much weight on your back, and I love programming and equipped lifting makes that more complicated because there are more variables so I enjoy it even more.
