When I do abstract acrylic painting with the squeegee tool, I think about how to make layers of paint interesting. It's different in this video because I want to show you how to create rust and patina effects in the squeegee technique. I first had to buy some acrylic paints in brown because I rarely painted in browns before. But rust and patina effects use browns as well as certain shades of blue and green. In my squeegee painting, I also use the metallic color copper, which has a slightly reddish tint, unlike bronze. I paint in my own style the squeegee technique made popular by Gerhard Richter. He is one of the greatest German artists for me. In contrast to his large paintings and large squeegee tools, my canvas is of course small. I hope you have fun discovering the squeegee technique!
