@@sumlatinkid wrong i believe. Expired almonds release cyanide. And even if fresh ones did, youd have to eat a hell of a lot of them to die.

Absolutely. On campus everyone feeds the squirrels and not only are they friendly and not afraid, they will snatch your bag of potato chips and run away with them.

@@tmedocianis Yeah, if you’re recognized as a helper, they’ll hang out with you. Just like humans but humans are more complex. Animals won’t tell you about their bad day and what not to a helper but if they could, trust me, they would. They’re like us with less control of themselves and awareness. If they were more aware, they would be more about themselves and self gain, and very vocal like malamute dogs. The more intelligent they are of human ways , the more they do what they want like kids, even when they’re domesticated. Some humans undermine how intelligent they are. I didn’t even know bats were smart as dolphins. It’s hard to get them to do what you want but that’s only because they’re so intelligent, they ignore you’re request instead of not being aware of it or NOT just do it for a treat. They have a sense of self of what they want. I’m just learning how smart animals can be, especially, the domesticated ones who are well aware of human behavior but still choose their own way of things.

Given its state and behavior the probability of it having rabies is pretty much zero. If it looked in bad shape and was acting weird then yeah, stay away and call animal control.

We have a following of squirrels who come to our patio on a daily basis. They're so tame they eat from our hands. If you love these sweet critters, try to carry Nature Valley bars or peanut butter crackers on you, so you have something to hand out. They truly are the sweetest little scamps. 💞
