I know it's a squirrel thing. BUT I felt SO sorry for little Jelly Bean getting thrown out like that 😔 😢 She must have been very confused. Lily certainly wanted her privacy when she gave birth to those 6 little ones under all the leaves 🍃 😄 Thank you SNL for finding all this footage and putting it all together for us. 🤗 💕

Wow. Just imagine carrying sextuplets, but you still have to catch your own food while staying one step ahead of predators. I have nothing but absolute respect for any kind of momma in the wild.

Internet says 6 is normal, but not in our neighborhood! We’ve seen 3 in spring and 4 in summer. Our first one with 6.

Wow 6 babies is surely an unusually large litter for a squirrel? So was her previous baby Jellybean an only child, or did she come from a big litter too? I felt so sad for poor Jellybean, when her formerly loving mummy attacked her, and kicked her out of their home. She must have been so confused! This is a fascinating video, tells the story of Lily's labour so beautifully (the subtitles are really helpful in showing us what's going on). Fantastic KZfaq channel - Bravo from the UK. XXX

@@karentatro3414 Great post, I'd love an update on poor lil Jellybean too. Let's hope there's a video in the pipeline, and we'll see she's doing OK! At least she had her Mama's love and care for three and a half months - that is a wonderful start to her life. God bless.

We googled for natural raccoon predators, and dogs came up as #1 in modern urban environment. It worked!

What a nice squirrel house! I must build a few too. Can you show us what it looks like? What do you feed your squirrels? I am doing a mix of Costco almonds, walnuts, filberts, some raw peanuts, and sunflower chips. I'd like to get some shelled black sunflower seeds too but hard to find. What makes them healthy?

This is our only purchased box, but it is a good box! We feed our backyard squirrels with walnuts, peanuts in shell and shelled and sunflower seeds. All of that can be considered junk food for squirrels if this is all they have access to. Our squirrels use our food in moderation, because they get other food like moss and sprouts. We have not been successful in feeding them with greens, fruits or vegetables. Winter makes them more agreeable

We have a mama squirrel who brings her 6 babies by every day. Some are small and look almost like rats. They have completely decimated my yard and every plant in it. 😭😭

She will be tolerated and not aggressively chased away (which is a lot by squirrel standards) when Lily is not in heat and not nursing. On cold nights they may all band together in a large pile of squirrels, but only for the night

We use POE (wired powered) cameras. We like reolink cameras. Zoom cameras will be the easiest to set up, eg Reolink RLC 522, RLC 822.

The easiest and fastest would be a wire free battery operated cloud camera called Blink Outdoor but you will need to change the batteries every 2-6 months. And low live videos
