Number 14 is a direct reference to “Cape Feare”, where the Simpsons go into witness protection to protect Bart from Sideshow Bob. They move to Cape Feare and go under the name Thompson.

I also chuckled at the motel in Muldraugh - Waites Motel. I'm guessing it's a loose reference to Bates Motel.

2:15 One easter egg constuted my shortest life in Project Zombiod. "Zombie Birthday Party." Basically, you spawn in a room with 4 zombies, wearing party hats. Now, obviously, since you are unarmed, you tend to just get mauled instantly.

Funny enough, Lester and Eliza and The Thompsons are all jokes seen in the simpsons itself, so its a very direct reference. Lester and Eliza are Bart and Lisa doppelgangers seen in "The day the violence died" and "The Thompsons" is the fake name the family takes (complete with a remade intro sequence) while under the witness protection program in "Cape Feare". Herb is also the name of Homer's half-brother.

The doctor found in a room of skeletons immediately made me think of the Medic from Team Fortress 2, as he's stolen a patient's skeleton before. I'm not saying that's what it's referencing, I'm just describing what that made me think of.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the VHS Tangier might be a reference to the film Casablanca

I think the prisoners are a reference to the game Dead Rising. A famous boss battle involves three prisoners in a jeep.

the 3 prisoner event might also be a nod to the 2001 film "O' brother, where art thou?" about 3 prisoners escaping jail in 1930 and the doctor scene made me think of Hannibal Lecter from the movie "Silence of the lambs", seeing as one of the skeletons still has flesh on it and Hannibal is a notorious cannibal

There's an episode where Herb buys a hair growth product and becomes one of the best workers in his workplace. His hair then disappears, and he gets demoted. This is similar to the plot of the season 2 episode "Simpson and Delilah" where homer buys a product called Dimoxinil. Other references to media I found: Fred and Ali's Radical Journey - Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. The Magical Woodland - Possibly a reference to the british children's television series "In the Night Garden..."? The Janitor - Might be a reference to the 1996 black comedy movie "The Cable Guy" (masterpiece btw) Blood in the Hood - Boyz n the Hood...with a fantasy twist? Huh? Sinsilla (band) - I don't think they're a reference to any band in particular, but they may be based on 90's heavy metal bands like Danzig, Metallica, and Guns N' Roses. The Bojangles (band) - The Beatles. I don't know what else to say. For Home VHS, The Reverend Quigley tape references a group that is very similar to Heaven's Gate. Those are all the refrences I could find (for now).

Another Easter egg referencing a Key and Peele skit - A. A. Ron’s hunting supply, after Key’s substitute teacher phonetically pronouncing student names (repeated again in the Mount Paramount ad for kid’s shows on the service).

I am pretty sure the encounter with the skeletons and doctor is a reference to the TF2 medic stealing people's skeletons, and losing his medical license. The 3 prisoner escapees, at least to me, look like D-Class personnel but that might be wrong.

I'll need to look up the exact location, but there was a farmhouse I came across whose interior had a very similar layout & furniture as featured in the American animated series Courage The Cowardly Dog. Its not a 1:1 recreation, but enough was there to make anyone who watched the show feel a little nostalgic.

For the Simpsons easter egg, there is an episode where the Simpsons go under witness protection and have to go under the last name Thompson instead of Simpson. So in the Project Zomboid universe, the Simpsons stayed under witness protection and continued living as the Thompsons.

In my opinion, the VHS tapes are not "Easter Eggs". They are spoofs of real-world shows and movies that are present in PZ. It's a whole lot easier and cheaper to make a spoof than to try to get the actual license to add to the game.
