SR 520 - Pontoon Float-in - Floating Bridge & Landings Project - Aug. 2012

The first pontoon for the new SR 520 floating bridge floated through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks Aug. 11, 2012.
This longitudinal pontoon measures 360 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 30 feet high, and weighs 11,000 tons.
This is the first of 77 total pontoons needed to construct the new SR 520 floating bridge. More information at www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr520bridge
