the plastic bit that you use a wooden dowel and screwdrivers to get out, it much simpler just to turn it with a pair of pliers and the tab pops out all by itself.

Dont use lithium grease it is bad for chrome, destroyed my fork. Slick is the best for outside legs. For inside parts i used teflon grease.

The exact model I have didn't come with any preload adjustment capability, but I think if you were to replace the cap over the spring with a 28mm Preload Dial Adjuster it would probably work. I haven't tested it out, but this one from SR Suntours website might do the trick! www.srsuntour.us/products/preload-dial-adjuster-1
