Embracing the local culture, we embarked on an exhilarating ride in a colorful tuk-tuk, navigating through bustling streets and absorbing the lively energy that permeated the air. A highlight of our trip was a visit to the picturesque Virgin tea plantation. Surrounded by endless fields of tea leaves, we indulged in the delicate flavors of the rare white tea.
Venturing into the wild, we embarked on an unforgettable safari at Yala National Park. Nature revealed its awe-inspiring wonders as we encountered majestic elephants, mighty water buffalos, and even caught a glimpse of the elusive leopard. Our journey continued to the tranquil shores of Nilwella, where we had the honor of releasing baby turtles into the vast ocean, witnessing the circle of life firsthand. The vibrant energy of Hiriketiya Beach beckoned us next, as we rode the waves and experienced the invigorating surfing vibe, surrendering ourselves to the pulse of the sea.
Seeking serenity, we found ourselves at the enchanting Tao House in Ahangama. Nestled amidst coconut trees, we explored the serene Coconut Hill in Mirissa, soaking in the breathtaking views and embracing the tranquility of nature. The nearby cafes invited us to indulge in authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. Our final stop took us to the idyllic Anawatuna Beach, where we swung into joy and laughter on the famous beach swing.
To complete our Sri Lankan escapade, we relished the luxurious comfort of The Hotel, a beautiful beachfront property that embraced us with warmth and hospitality. With each passing day, we fell deeper in love with Sri Lanka's enchanting landscapes, rich traditions, and friendly locals.

A great video of SL. Beautiful! Just a bit of FYI though, you're in Sri Lanka so the money is called 'Rupee' not 'Rupiah'. Also be very careful when riding the scooter as driving in SL can be dangerous, especially with the private buses and trucks who rarely follow the road rules!

We have been to unawatuna beach with the swing and delawella, but the tide is to high during the rainy season that there is practically no beach. So that was our take on it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience :) This year between 20 July - 20 August we would like to go to Sri Lanka but we are afraid of monsoon season. Does it worth to be there in this time? If you share your thoughts we would blissful. Thank you :)

Hmm, monsoon season. We have extensive experience with that. Yes and no, if you don’t have any other choice than it’s not so bad. It will rain but not all day every day you will get sunshine and rain. Mostly in the afternoon it rains but you will not be able to plan much as you will normally have only mornings. Sri Lanka is divided into two parts and during the monsoon season in Mirissa, there is dry season in Aguram Bay. Furthermore it’s normally overcast a lot so the weather changes a lot it rains and then there is sun and it rains it comes and goes in waves. Also, during the monsoon season, there is not much beach exposed in Ahangama and anawatuna the beach gets really narrow during the rainy season so weligama would be a better place to stay.
