Sridevi reminds me of my mom and I would have been so proud if my mom danced on stage like her. Reading some of the comments here, it is apparent that some men are so narrow-minded to think a women past her teen years must sit at home and take care of her children/grandchildren. Shame on these people... They are jealous that their mothers are not as pretty as Sridevi and cannot dance like her...

We can never compare two legends, they are both unique in their own style. Sri fans and madz fans dont fight! Im a die heart madhuri fam, but i respect sri ji as well. Both are amazing, sri devi's comic timing, and madhuri's expressions are out of the world :)

How can you people talk very bad about Sridevi? of cause she is not a 20 years old girl, time goes and goes, but she gave a lot to indian cinema. I am from Russia but we like her so much as well as Hema, Madhuri, Rekha. Look at yourself now or in a couple years how you will look like. It does not matter that she became fatter and slower, she is still woman, pretty woman!!! She gave you emotions, made you happy throug her dancing and acting. Why are you so rude.

I have huge crush on her from my childhood.. and I still have... She looks so sweet, confident, bold, elegant, diva etc etc.. She is the only actress who ruled bollywood at her own time, even male actor of that period was not so good as she was... age doesnt matter she is the same person.. :) :) :) I still have crush on her... those expresionsss ;) ;) :D

Well, its not the way she looks, but the way she performs. She has still got the same comic timing in her dances and the charisma that one could see in her dance moves in the late 80s and 90s. The present generation would find it tough to get a status like this one they retire.

Madhuri is a trained and skilled dancer. Sridevi was not trained yet danced well. Her facial expressions were always good. She is in 50's now so you can't expect her to look svelte and young. Regarding her hips, she was never a very slim actress from the start. She always had weight issues so what's the big deal? the true fact is that she was and is a very talented actress and could carry off a movie on her shoulders alone even today with English Vinglish she has proved it. I will not put Madhuri down as well. She is another brilliant actress and dancer. We should learnt to appreciate these legends instead of picking on their weight and their personal life is their business.

amit she's not trained but is perhaps the greatest character dancer. she learned classical dancing from her movies, she can do bharatnatyam which is one of the biggest classical dances in india.

Sridevi is a magnificent actor and that shows in her moves and dances. The dance could have been better if Sri was alone. Her Filmfare dances in 2007 of (Best of the 80s) which she was featured as the only star of the 80s was incredible. Now going to what some would say about THE JOKER. JOKER always dances herself and she is no actor. I dont even need to see her awful jhatkas or matkas which are around the place. Sri dances live every few years only while THE JOKER dances at least every weak!!

Sridevi is the best. I was too a bit surprised by some of the songs she did not select, but I think she only chose those songs which were recently remade. Hawa Hawaii, Chandni oOMeri Chandni, Naino Mein Sapna, and Na Jaane Kahan Se were all remade in the last year or two so she probably wanted to have that be the theme. Very enjoyable performance. She dances especially well with Prabhu Deva. Glad she incorporated her trademark expressions and comedy.

I remember when I was a kid, I watched many of her movies on TV.. like, it aired almost everyday hahaha the movie with snake on it was frequently aired at that time, till her latest one before hiatus : Judaai 😂 . . And glad she's back with a very good movie : English Vinglish. I love that movie so much.. Feels so real and she's awesome as always 😊

Actually Sridevi had several hits in the 90s (though yes, with the exception of Judaai and Khuda Gawah they did not rise to the level of her 80s Blockbusters). Khuda Gawah was the second highest grossing film of 1992, which shows her box office draw was still very strong. Gumrah and Army were both above average/semi-hits, and Laadla was a clear box office hit (as was Judaai). Judaai and Khuda Gawah were certainly her most successful films in the 90s. And her commercial value remained high despite flops- apart from winning Filmfare best actress for Lamhe in 1991, she was nominated in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1997 and still gracing magazine covers through 1993 as the number one actress (these can easily be found on google).

Although Khuda Gawah was a grosser ,it was made on a massive budget and therefore declared flop.similar to Raone which is a flop inspite of grossing 100 Crs.Gumrah and Army were also flops..only ladla was above average ,not outright hit..and if u go by award nomination then Smita patil,deepti naval ,shabana aazmi were much bigger stars than Sri devi in 80s which u consider as best days for Sri.. to put things in perspective,u must look at performance during the 90-97 of sri's contemprories of 80s and new comers in 90s. Meenaxi -Ghayal,ghatak,damini-one superhit & 2 hits Jaya prada..aaj ka arjun & maa-2 outright hits Dimple-krantiveer- Super hit Rekha :phool bane anagare-super hit,khiladiyon ka khiladi-big hit Now look at the box office performances of some of new comers: Ayesha Jhulka-3 hits,khiladi,jo jeeta wohi sikander,dalal raveena-dilwale,mohra,khiladiyon ka khiladi Karishma-anari,raja babu,coolie no1,jeet Kajol-Bazigar,Karan,arjun,DDLJ Mamta kulakrni,tiranga,sabse bada khiladi,karan arjun Juhi-Darr,hum hain rahi pyar ke,bol radha bol Sri devi's box office performance was poorer than all the above mentioned actress..so she was ranked lower than all the actresses..she was in fact no where in contention..actually her graph started falling from 1988 itself when she gave flops like.sone pe suhaga,sherni ,ram avtar The biggest hits of 1988 -tezab & qsqt didnt have sridevi..In 1989 she gave flops like joshilay and gair kanuni but chandni and chalbazz saved the year ..but still biggest hits of 1989 were maine pyar kiya and ram lakhan which didnt have sri devi...so i must say she definitely had very horrible 1990s

My goal isn't to get in an argument, but i think labeling Army and Gumrah as flops is a mischaracterization. This website with box office figures show Laadla was a clean hit and shows the collections of Army and Gumrah were above average (www.ibosnetwork.com/asp/filmbodetails.asp?id=Laadla). All other box office collections sites (even box office india.com) show collections were at least average if not above- none say any of those films flopped. Furthermore, none of the actresses you named above ever gave female oriented hits, like Judaai, Sadma and Nagina, Chandni, Chaalbaaz, etc- all named after the female lead and all big hits (even dirty picture doesn't live up to the business Nagina did, adjusted for inflation). And if her films such as Khuda Gawah were grossers, still shows that she was a big star able to bring in a box office draw, just like SRK did with RaOne. When she's been dubbed as the first female superstar and last empress (both can be verified through googling, i don't need to place more links) and has been the only actress (aside from Dimple Kapadia) to make a successful comeback as a heroine, i wouldn't consider her a "ms. bechaari"- rather someone who is deservingly regarded as a top actress- and she was worth enough of your time and energy to comment multiple times to analyze her box office prowess.
