Always going to be a fan of the original version of The Poseidon Adventure, and nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise but I will admit at least the other version did give a view of all areas of the ship when it was turning not just where the main passengers were; when it showed the kitchen, the engine room, the swimming pool and elevator scenes I will admit that was great but 1972s version will always be my favorite.

The Captain went hard right in 2006. Captain Enrico Palazzo went hard left in 1972. This editing was perfect and awesome.

These actually mash together rather well, and I know I'm in the unpopular opinion boat but my favorite is actually the 2005 version

The fact that the 2005 capsize shows what would actually happen if a ship capsized because they used actual rotating sets to film it.Super Underrated Movie.

Nah, gotta be the poor bastards who get braised alive in that maintenance shaft. Kurt Russell even finds their corpses later and remarks on how painful it must have been...

@@jimdavis3435 that character was played by classic Hollywood actress Jennifer Jones. She played the love interest of Fred Astaire and I remember in the final scene they were trying to convey his grief at losing her but the fireman just hands old Fred his dead girlfriend's cat and walks away 😹

The woman doesn’t fall out of the elevator, she instead falls from one of the floors, and then (possibly) there is a man in the elevator that falls, why I say a man? It’s because when Dylan swims into the burning oil with water, he is near the skylight and you can see a man-

When I saw this,I immediately thought of all 3 Poseidon ships on the same trip The 2005 one experienced a engine that blew up while the other two got hit by the wave.

You should have included the clip of the 72 Poseidon briefly shown on her side-made you wish the ship wouldn't completely turn over. The original version is the better one with the capsizing scene-less is definitely more.

SS Poseidon is a Luxury Liner the biggest in the world. With a dining room. A party room. 2 Ballrooms and on the largest In the world at New Year’s Eve. Poseidon Meets a Rogue wave After A Lookout spots one. The Ship Soon Hits Leaving the People in the Dining Room Party room and Ballrooms to survive. Also in the 2 Baking Rooms the bakers also challenge to survive. Dining Room (Main Room in 2006) Party Room (2006) Ballroom 1 (1972) Ballroom 2 (2005) Baking Room 1 (2005) Baking Room 2 (2006)

So the 2006 one is the only one that tried to flip over but it ended it flipping back over and the other two ones didn’t though the Poseidon 2005 one didn’t get hit by a wave and it didn’t capsize vary quick

RW :funny i remember that Pokemon did 2 episodes involving this movie ,it was about The SS ANN with the same problem that happens from these movies but with alittle difference and seeing the 🌊 capsizing the Poseidon 🚢 kinda reminds me of the 2021 film.😕

In the 2006 version there is a mistake hard a starboard means turn to port not turn to starboard

@@CaptainJZH Good points. But the terrorists exploded one of their bombs at the ship's lower portion, causing the stormy ocean waters to rush in and dangerously unbalance the entire vessel which ultimately capsized as a result thereof. That's how I perceived the disastrous chain of events.
