Super Smash Bros N64 ~ Tool-Assisted Speedrun
BtT = Break the Targets
I really would love to see that this 10"xx barrier get broken someday. I spent a lot of effort into this TAS for kinda nothing, because it doesn't matter too much at the end. You are forced too lose saved frames at the moving platform cycle, otherwise 10"00 is the maxed result. If we would be fast enough to hit the 9 target with the Up+B and still land on the platform it would save a lot of time, but it is not possible with the current route (execpt of we would save a few frames, what is not possible) so if you've any idea/suggestion let me know, i really want to see a 9"xx for Luigi's Break the Targets but for now with 10"00 is max :/

on the first jump, is it possible to land in the teeter animation (hold stick in neutral as you're about to ledge cancel) and jump out of that to avoid 3 frames of landing lag?

There's no landing lag on that first jump. The fireball animation ends as you land and you can jump right after !

Nicolas Frechette oh ok so its just the fireball’s lag that causes those 3 frames? because the 3 frames are there you can see them

@@poopsmithjones1 There's only 1 frame, the rest is jumpsquat animation before luigi is airborne

@@nicolasfrechette6285 I have 1 other idea, I'm not sure if this is possible, but perhaps luigi could head more to the left before throwing the fireball top left, in such a way that when luigi begins to move right during the fastfall, he doesn't hit the blue wall so high up, but instead he clips the bottom of the blue wall, pushing him downward slightly and making him land on the striped platform a frame or 2 earlier

it seems like a waste after T6 to be gaining horizontal momentum against the wall when it barely gets you any x distance, perhaps a better angle can be found between either you or Haru
