This video is a test of the SSL 2+ recording an acoustic guitar and testing the 4k switch function. No processing was done in order to give an accurate representation of the interface. Filmed using a cell phone in my home studio inside a fifth wheel RV.

Sounds super clean and loud enough. Does it work with Windows 10? Did you have any issue trying to install it? Thank you

It should work fine with windows 10. I use a mac so there is no installation, just plug and play. For windows I assume you can download the drivers from SSL. Good luck!

Can you just dial in extra around the 4K mark on your eq (I’m using a Warm Audio valve eq,) to get the same effect or is this a different sounding kind of 4k. I have noticed quite a few interfaces lately starting to offer this option or having these mystical 4K buttons..

The 4k button is based on the 4000 series console by ssl. So I dont think it is the same as boosting 4k on an eq. I'm sure you could emulate the sound using some analog distortion or eq. It adds a bit of grit and upper mid texture. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!

Dude, I have the Scarlett interface, would it be worthy to replace it for the ssl2+? Will there be any sound differences?

Sorry for the late reply. The scarlett is plenty good. But the ssl is definitely better I used to have the scarlett.

appogee Vs Uad Vs RME vs Ssl 2+ which one should i buy ...money is also a very important thing in this interfaces ...ssl is so much low in cost ...but i want to know that ,could ssl give the other brands a very good fight or it wins in this price range ...please reply ....

If you have the money for the apollo or babyface, go for it. I've never owned either but I know they are excellent. I upgraded to the ssl2+ from the focusrite scarlett and sapphire 26. The ssl is a big improvement over those. The SSL 2+ is substantially less expensive than UAD etc. You wont be disappointed. If money is an issue, go with the ssl2+.

I would ad the Motu M2 for around the same outlay or a little more for the M4 to the equation very nice indeed reviews wise..

I have a SSL2 which I carry around with my laptop; simple, yet great quality. I use a RME Fireface 800 in the studio as it is more like a permanent fixture with plenty routing options.

The audient seems super nice. Im sure the mic pre is excellent but theres only 1. Also only 1 headphone mix option. The monitor dim switch is cool. I've never used one though. I prefer the layout and look of the SSL. Both will get the job done. The pots and knobs on the ssl 2+ feel amazing and the aluminum face looks really good. I've used several focusrite interfaces and the SSL is noticeably better in my opinion. Really it's a matter of personal preference. Good luck! 👍

I had an audient id22 not the id4 but from my experience, because I got it in 2015ish?, it ended up dying on me. I also noticed a lot of audient interfaces had problems after a few years in. It wasn't just me. Many had this issue too. Although the SSL 2 is new, I love it so far. I did like the preamps on the audient but the SSL2 didn't make it feel like I downgraded from my audient id22. Either or should be good! Good luck!
