Hey everyone, this is my first impression video of the St.Croix Legend X spinning rod. Its the XLS610MLXF model. 6'10" Medium-Lite, Extra Fast. In this video I break down the characteristics, construction and components of this rod. I will be explaining what I'll be using it for and how I will be using it.

Sweet rod man. Ive got the same size and action in the legend extreme 2nd gen (the green one ) and I use it for drop shot and man it’s fire 🔥 I’m sure that legend x would be sick for Ned.

@@shorefishingontario yes it is. I have 2 of the green version and one offshore vision witch is white. But ya one is 6’10 m xf and had it sense they first came out from fishing world. Not a fan of the new vision because of reel seat.

I almost got that model but took the ML instead cuz it's softer. The 6'8" and 6'10" M is a fantastic wacky rig rod. I have to do more research but if I'm not mistaken, the blank of the Extreme is the same as the X and Elite.

Absolutely, I have the reel spooled with 5lb Power Pro right now lol. Gonna use it with 5 and 6lb Sunline Sniper FC leader. I like living on the edge lol.🤣

Now that you have fished it for a summer what are your thoughts now as I am looking at that same Rod ?

It's a great rod. If you plan on using light line with dropshot or ned rig between 6-8lb then this is a fantastic rod for it. The action allows you to use light line as St.Croix rods actions are a little more moderate than they're listed. I love any St.Croix spinning rod in the 6'10" ML XF spec. It also has a 15 year warranty.

Looks like a great combo! Have to do a on the water review once you do some nedding on it. Let me know how you like that reel! One of the few I actually purchased an extra spool for!!

Will definitely do a proper review on it. Here in Ontario, bass doesn't open until the 3rd and 4th Saturday in June. However, I have to check the regs when the Lake Ontario catch and release season starts because then I may be able to put some time in with a Ned Rig and get a proper feel for it. As for the reel, I love it! I got it last summer and used it for shakeyhead first and found that it works much better with lighter lines lighter than 8lb as well as for more finesse techniques like Ned Rig and dropshot. The drag is smoothe like butter, but only has around 9lbs of drag. Right now, I have it spooled with 5lb power pro. I may do a review on the reel, actually. Thanks for watching and commenting!
