But this interview has rightly brought out the real reason, analysis and way forward to heal the state. What he opines on ST demand is aptly true. Just by drum beating and shedding crocodile tear the fear on land issue cannot be addressed. The stake holder has to be approached amicably with a win win situation. Over all a very good interview.

Demand for ST status by the Meiteis is legitimate and an equitable one being of the similar stock in race. Without which the population of some 12+lakh of Meiteis in the 1+billion population of India is existentially under threat. It is to safeguard this existence of ethnic Manipuris that restoration of earlier ST status is necessary. The survival of Meiteis depend on it. Not to talk of the claim for land in the hills or job security is quite dwarfed when thinking in terms of existence. The land holding laws in itself is a time bomb waiting to burst and bound to do so looking into its colonial devide and rule policy being integrated. Hugely biased land holding law nowhere to be seen in any nation in the world continue to operate in the state.

It's clear. NRC should be implemented to safeguard the indigenous of Manipur and avoid later conflict. If all Kukis, Nagas, Meeteis claimed themselves to be indigenous, what is more apt than NRC ? Yes, any issues and events happened in Manipur, meetie are always at the front liners and faced the challenges. E.g., June 18 issues, No other community comes forward to save Manipur. At the same, the being saviours of Manipur, the meetie cannot access the land and cannot enjoy, as like other communities. I paid tax 65000/- per months, study for 5 years to get Post graduate seat in a reputed medical college. True, we have suffered a lot

Why anyone should object when Meiteis demand ST, it is their legitimate demand? Kukis are worried that Meiteis will come and buy land on the hills, if u also can buy land anywhere in Manipur, why can't the Meiteis who are the not only the indigenous people of but also the tribes who has done maximum sacrifices for the protection of their motherland Or are you afraid if Meiteis settle on the hills, you can no longer plant your poppy because Meiteis will never allow the wrath of their beloved motherland

Congestion of Manipur valley area is because of all development infrastructures like hospital, educational institutions, Universities, sport university you name it all these beneficial infrastructures are kept in Imphal valley as the valley Meitei are politically dominant. Now all Manipuris will tried to go and settle nearby these instructions. Hence population congestion in Imphal is due to majoritarian Meitei who are politically also dominant greed/selfeshness to have all these developments in the valley. Tribal area is still thinly populated because no development has happened and totally neglected by the majoriterian Meitei. Today tribals are calling Biren as Meitei CM which is very true. Hence separate administration is the only solution to the crisis.

Kukis not being indigenous is a new narrative that surfaced in recent years as naga framework has become clear with the hurdle only with regards to the flag and constitution,other demands like integration of naga inhabited areas already being checked. This is the reason behind meiteis now parroting muivah's statement which of course has little historical basis. There was no india or Manipur. The whole stretch of northeast from burma to Bangladesh had a definite track of kuki settlements from time immemorial.Nobody owned those land,no tributes were paid. Because of their peculiar customs they had their chieftainships unlike the meiteis who grouped together under a kingship. Let's face it these were ancient,barbaric times of animals and humans living together in the mountains. Cant view from today's perspective.

I like what he said, Religion is actually an individual choice, we cannot take that away from an individual. His or her life, his or her choice of belief. If we all understood, Co-existence would be so much easier. No one can force another to believe in this or that. If that be the case, give me a house, a car and 60,000 rupees every month and I will believe what you want me to believe. What is religion! It's man made, no holy book has ever been written by this God or that God. Besides, I doubt, that God takes sides. He does not interfere with out arguments or taking sides, from this war or that war. We haven't reached that Altruistic way of thinking yet. Let's just hope, that the seniors will be able to keep the peace and weed out those bad elements from all sides.

Inclusiveness is now seen as weakness by Others... How do we deal with that? Meiteis were never exclusive but were inclusive in approach. Now there is inconcious Radicalisation of Meiteis by circumstances.

With a view to taking more land, Manipur govt started by declaring most hilly areas forest lands which essentially sought to exclude the zo-kukis from there. Now they are showing their true colours and started saying the land occupied by meiteis is too small, and they are eyeing those places for themselves. Most of Manipur, for all practical purpose, was a mere geographical expression and the raja never had effective rule over the hills. The kukis were the real occupants of those areas, and as such, their claims to being native inhabitants is justified.
