Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you. Those choir songs are very very sappy, even though they helped set the mood with this documentary.

The irony is that SW Bell (who produced the film) moved its HQ to Texas over a tiff regarding the CEOs membership denied by a certain country club..

Would love the history of mid circle and grand circle drive off lindbergh blvd in st. Ann Mo- heard that is where the streetcar made a u-turn and we also had grandparents who road it to Creve Couer Park many times which is not far from that small neighborhood thanks

4:14 Haven't seen a REA X truck in years. I'm old. I saw the Arch being built - the family used to pass it a couple times a week on our way to my grandmother's house. Have home movies from the park below it of the last piece being put in. This is a silly film, but fun to watch. Laclede Gas put out one that is much better.

I just now noticed there is not a single black person in the video, unless in a pro sports clip (baseball and basketball)

they did mention tearing down the old and replacing with the new. They did show plaza square, and it looked like they might have shown at least a few seconds of what might have been Pruitt-Igoe buildings.

Unfortunately by the time of filming this St. Louis was already in decline. It declined rapidly after the mid 60s.
