Armadillo Pepper BBQ

6 жыл бұрын

Today we are making St. Louis Ribs on the Masterbuilt Smoker with a Cola Glaze. This is an easy and great tasting rib recipe with a homemade BBQ sauce. As mentioned, we are doing this rib cook in the Masterbuilt Smoker, so let’s get going.
Recipe Ingredients
• 1 rack pork ribs
• Heaven Made Products Texas Rib Rub to taste, more info here www.armadillopepper.com/produ...
• ¼ cup Squeeze butter
• 3 tablespoons honey
• 16 oz Pepsi cola, separated 4 oz and 12 oz.
• ½ cup apple cider vinegar
• 2 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon dried garlic
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoons Colon Cleaner Hot Sauce (or yellow mustard)
• 2 cups Ketchup
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Recipe Instructions
1. Remove the rib membrane from the back of the ribs.
2. Season sides of the ribs with the Heaven Made Products Texas Rib rub.
3. Preheat the Masterbuilt Smoker to 225 degrees F and add Maple Wood Chips.
4. Place the ribs in the Masterbuilt Smoker and cook for 2.5 hours.
5. Remove the ribs from the Masterbuilt Smoker, apply the squeeze butter, honey and wrap in foil along with 4 oz of Pepsi Cola.
6. Place the ribs back in the Masterbuilt Smoker and cook for another 2 hours.
7. Remove the ribs from the Masterbuilt and remove the foil. Place the ribs back in the Masterbuilt for 30 minutes.
8. To make the sauce add 12 oz Pepsi to a pan over high heat. Add the apple cider vinegar, onion powder, dried garlic, brown sugar, cinnamon, Colon Cleaner Hot sauce, pepper, pepper, Ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
9. Glaze the ribs with the sauce. Cook 15 minutes, glaze again and then cook for another 15 minutes. Total cook time today is 5.5 hours.
10. Remove the ribs from the Masterbuilt Smoker. Let rest for 10 minutes and serve!

Watching this at 6:15AM and I'm wanting these ribs for breakfast. OK, here's my take. Next time, you need to cut ribs in half, do one with the rub/sauce and one with the rub only. That way we get a 'taste' of what the rub is like. However, I'd luv to eat these any way you cook them. Thanks Jeff.

I love this recipe! I made them the weekend that you put the video up and they turned out excellent! Just added honey, butter, and coke for my second batch! I made the first batch with a diet Dr. Pepper. I have the same exact smoker and I've found that the more meat you put in it, the higher temp you need to run. It took way too long the first time but I had 2 slabs in. I raised temp to 245 this go round and I have a whole beer can chicken in there as well. I also add a piece of charcoal to the wood chips tray and use the smoker add on tower so that I get continuous smoke for up to 6 hours. I fill the tower and the tray. I also skipped making the sauce, saucing the ribs, and used sweet baby Ray's for dipping. I also used mesquite this time and hickory the first time. I use salt, course ground pepper, garlic powder, a tad of ground cummin, smoked paprika, then topped it off with McCormicks sweet and smokey rub. Delicious! The first time I busted one pice of foil like you did. This time I busted both! Maybe double wrap right off the bat next time.

@@Armadillopepper They turned out excellent ! I just left them in the foil for another 3 hours. The bones squeezed right out when I tried to cut them! So total cook time was 5 1/2 hours. The only issue I have with that same model smoker! It doesn’t hold the temp. Other then that, I love it.

Not positive but I think Sadie was hired by the FDA as an official taste tester and an ArmadilloPepper inspector. You just kicked her out of the picture in this video. I'm hoping you have some bail money... Recipe looks great and one that I will likely try sometime soon I suspect, now that you caused me to buy a Masterbuilt smoker. I'm also willing to help out with bail money if needed. Can you send a message to me with smoke signals for the amount of bail needed? :D
