It does affect, but not as bad as facts, they see powerless gov snd police, they see that no one will help when needed - what is the conclusion you think they'll come to? Plus another indicator is how good kids are in school, stress might affect dramatically but if kid normal (in terms of intelligence) he'll be interested in something at least. When kids aren't able to absorb and process information then it also might mean that they just unable - not the brightest, if they disturb other kids then it is another level also to be addressed.

I had an incredibly bizarre experience with a neighbour who was from a certain religion which involved her covering her face. I get along with everyone so did my best to be nice to her but the more leverage i gave the more she began to interfere with my life. She started bringing me food every day to the point i had to politely ask her not to as i had a diet i was trying to maintain. This made her extremely angry. Then she began knocking on my door every day as she wanted to discuss world problems and every single time she would insist that without Allah the world was doomed. I told her i disagreed with that notion which made her more angry. There are another 10 examples i could give of how she became more intrusive / demanding and eventually i asked her to leave me alone as i didn't have the time or energy for her. That really made her angry. I became worried about going back to my apartment after work because i knew she'd be staring out of her window, watching me. The entire experience really rattled me and gave me the creeps. Then one day she moved out. The relief i felt was enormous but for weeks afterwards i still felt like i was being watched.

Kids killing kids, yet society will just go on in a consumer world as though it is not happening. Some people will be slightly shocked for a few minutes, the few will be shocked that this is even happening and on such a scale, while the many will be oblivious or not even care. As a society we have some priorities wrong on what is more important in society. The rich and powerful, patting each other on the backs, for their fancy inner-cities, with visages of buildings boasting of wealth, yet surrounded by neglected housing estates, full of crime and gangs. Yet nothing is changing, just getting worse. Worst to the scale that in the past, kids killing kids would be headline news, is now just a article in the local rag. We've lost our way as a society.

Bristol had quite a few stabbings I think four fatal ones this year, and there had been lots of national and local media coverage and the general view of some youngsters is they feel they need to carry a knife for protection. That's part of the problem, but how to deal with it, I hope gets figured out.
