I don't understand why they don't show this movie in school. Excellent history and social studies. When I was in school way back we always watched movies like this to help us understand each other. Kinda like role playing. I've seen this movie probably 50 times...I wore out my DVD lol Never gets old. Like coach said....we are still in this battle today.

This is a reflection of the society at the time. Another situation of similar idea occurred in the midst of the Korean War, when soldiers no longer viewed the guy next to him as white, black, purple or orange but just Marine Green.
