Well consider Lumen is one of the best GI solutions on the market, I'd say that have lighting covered. A great thing about Unreal is the physics is very tweakable, where PhysX was often a pain, and Chaos can be replaced by another physics subsystem entirely if they wanted. AI though, we are still using the same systems as we have for years so I wouldn't expect much other than quality animations and set pieces to gloss over it. I think we are on the cusp of new characterAI improvements to go alongside motion matching and other subsystems but with Epic you never know and when you do know then it generally takes even more time as they figure out their own best practices.

god i remember when that came out , i was a kid back then and played on console but a friend of mine who played on pc tried to play it and it straight up played like a slide show . You needed a monster rig for clear sky because of the god rays, ive got a really good pc but still worried about stalker 2 because of ue5 .

AI and ballistics is what I'm really hoping for. OG Stalker, Anomaly, GAMMA had one thin in common. A living and believable world. I want the AI (A-Life) to be as dynamic as the previous games. If I meet a random Stalker in Rookie Village I may find his body or meet him hours later with different gear.

Yes. IGN played 40-60 mins demo and RDR2 is a very, VERY high bar.

They said in relation to animations, as in most interactions will have animations. Which is cool and I think Stalker will be a great game, but they weren’t exactly saying it in terms of the open world, story, polish etc. as a huge stalker fan myself all I’m sayin is don’t expect rdr2😂

@@myles5388 literally doesn't need animations, the gameplay is often in mouse-based menus. That's STALKER gameplay - good enough that games like Tarkov straight rip it off. We don't need waste of time modernisms that don't even count as quality-of-life improvements.

They would have no reason to move to UE 5.4 yet. There wasn't enough time to utilise any of the new tools that came with it really as the game was going through final QA. They might have used some of the features from 5.4 in pre-production however if their own testing meant their use case was bug free. Often a coder will deep dive a major update to take commits from the source control and implement them in a previous version. But that doesn't always, and can't always, work because of limitations of backwards compatibility.

Lossless scaling on steam is a good option if dlss or fsr isn't available at launch even tho it should be, you can get alot more fps with that program as it upscales whatever you're playing.

Actually no, the original trilogy has recently been ported over to console. I believe it's still in a rough state though.

@@rafox66, I bought call of Pripyat. Less than 10 bugs in full playthrough (around 20 hrs), only two of which were more or less noticeable . But yeah, i’m also heard that game have some issues.

I've played all ported versions over here on series x. While there were a few hiccups no game breaking bugs on my end. More audio bugs if anything. I would get some popping or crackling through my headphones.

Well it's clearly not universally hated is it, there is a small minority who are very vocal about disliking it strongly (such as yourself) but they don't keep sticking it most games just because they actively want to annoy their customers do they- it's actually a nice effect when used well.

I always turn off camera MB, any mid range/mediocre monitor or TV gives you enough motion blur, unless it's freaking TN.

You don’t understand the science and potential when done right. You just hear “motion blur” and foam at the mouth. They’ve explained it and broke it down in a video before. It’s your fault you haven’t educated yourself on the topic yet.

You can use a controller on PC. Something which is often done at games shows as it saves space. The game will look awful on Xbox. All UE5 games do. The resolution will be low with really aggressive upscaling being used.

@ryanb3908 Hellblade 2 is 30FPS, and the other two look horrendous, running at ridiculously low resolutions with very aggressive upscaling used to try and maintain 60FPS. Also, Alan Wake 2 doesn't use UE5. It's on the Northlight engine.

@@Winams Look at the track record so far. Every UE5 powered game runs like ass on PS5/Series X. The Matrix demo struggled to run at like 18fps.

I would much rather have a mostly stable 30fps with decent visuals than a fluctuating 60fps that frequently falls out of the VRR range and is upscaled from sub 1080p resolutions.

I just don’t get that take at all. The aesthetic feels exactly like the original Stalker trilogy to me, so far, anyway.

At least stalker 2 will be a game, not a glorified walking simulator with 6 hour gameplay.

This game will be a mess at launch. I would hardly call it the “genuine next gen game.” Most of the previews from Summer Games Fest are pretty negative.

@Winams The game has had a massive downgrade in the visuals department, and the devs made some weird excuses as to why the game itself doesn't look as good as the gameplay they've shown. It's not a good look when the demo available for those to play is far worse looking than the gameplay you put out at the very same show. Also, trusting huge gaming sites to give you honest feedback is like trusting a thief not to steal. Luke Stephens is the one who said the game was not all that impressive. There's also videos from a while back of people saying the same thing when they put out the first playable demo. I've absolutely no doubt in my mind that people will blindly defend the game regardless of how bad it is.

Luke Stephens on the other hand literally didn’t understand what an anomaly was so you should not be trusting him to give an accurate review lmao. PS: people who played both the original demo and the new one also stated how much better it is visually and mechanically, so that’s also something to think about
