Oh my gosh!! This is the first vid for me to watch from you guys and I'm like stoked!! I love your enthusiasm. So, you say you can't draw?? I seriously thought the lady was one of Wakely's (sp) face stamps. You are so funny! Can't wait to watch more. And, I've been stuck, only watching tutorials, and have not made a thing! Yes, of course I went and bought a journal and it looks great on my kitchen table. The blue cover really pops among all of our mail and clutter. Maybe I'll open it up and actually do something on all of those blank pages? Hmm .… ? LOL Thank you so very much for this lesson!!

Gesso is essentially acrylic paint with some talc in it.

You might keep a straw handy and then blow through the straw to direct the ink on the tag, or on the table before putting tag into it. Its great fun!

how do you get gesso or acrylic paint off your stamps and do you use polymer type clear stamps with gesso or paint
@TPTCC277 жыл бұрын
Hi Estee...My apologizes for the extremely slow response. (We had a very long and challenging year and I'm just back on You Tube on a regular basis). I just use a baby wipe to remove the gesso. As long as you clean it immediately after stamping, the gesso will remove easily. And, yes, you can use this same technique with polymer stamps.

Gorgeous!! Will versamark give the same type of resist? I'm a new papercrafters just learning the ropes
@TPTCC275 жыл бұрын
Hi Rochelle! Thanks so much for your sweet comments! I've not tried this technique with VersaMark. However, VersaMark would give you a clear mark vs. white and I'm not sure you'd have the same effect, but it would be a great experiment!

beautiful tags. what is the mat you are using to put the paint on. it wipes so easily

Thank you so much! That is a non-stick craft sheet from Ranger. You can purchase it at most craft stores. Kim

Really outstanding work and video! I'll be back! What did you use to draw over gesso and (did you say) acrylic paint? May have misheard. Thanks.
@TPTCC276 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Lynn! On the background page, I used gesso and once dry colored with ink sprays. The face was painted with acrylic paint.

Hi , the Distress stain , are with alcool ? Sorry , for English , i'm French ! Thank you :)
@TPTCC277 жыл бұрын
Hi Fayy...so sorry for the slow response. Distress Stains are not alcohol based, they are actually dye based ink. They will react with water, even after they are dry. Alcohol inks are waterproof.

Hi! Great job What stamp is this? Would you also mind telling me where you got the sponge you used :)
@TPTCC275 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This is an older stamp from Donna Downey. Not sure if it's still in production. You can check her shop. And the sponges are from Ranger. I think they call it Craft Foam.

Does Gesso have an odour to it? Is it waterbased? Thank you
@TPTCC277 жыл бұрын
Hey Deborah..it depends on the brand. I have found that Liquidtex does not have much of an odor, while The Crafters Workshop brand, for example, does. Yes, they are water based.

First time I watch you. Fun a d inspiring to watch. But it would have been easier to watch your page paperiepetals.blogspot.com if you had made a direct link. I looked at your side and many interesting things and information. But it is a little difficult to read a light yellow Text on a white background - but it looked aesthetically very beautifull - but still its is also helpfull when the text and the background colour is not to close

Hi Lis! Thanks so much for your feedback! This video was actually connected to my store blog, which was a blog I ran a few years ago. (The store was acquired) However, your suggestion of a direct link to my blog post is a good one! I'll work to improve that functionality and accessibility!
