First off, May, you look absolutely fabulous! Thank you for explaining all about Gesso because I always wondered about its uses. Would like to delve even further into this product. I also had no idea there was black gesso. Thanks for sharing May!

Would've liked to have seen comparisons between black gesso and white gesso. Would've liked some advice about when to use gesso and when it's not necessary. Too much time was wasted on one project.

Could you use mod posge on top after everything is dry of course for a finish? I dont have anything to take away the dry texture for something I made and would like it to be more finished if that makes sense

I am having problems with gesso and with mod podge warping my pages...I am new to this. What am I doing wrong?

you could tape the paper down round the edges, also make sure you dry the back as well as the front as you go along, hope this helps a bit

Mixed Media paper is great. Watercolor papers work well too. When in doubt, use a scrap piece of your favorite paper to see if you like the results. It might surprise you and be better than you ever expected. :)

Yes, you can. It just takes a lot longer to dry and build layers when working on metal.

You might also roughen the surface of the tin slightly with sandpaper, just to give a bit of tooth that the gesso can bond to better. :)

estimated drying times would be helpful to know thank you nice craft.

Drying time varies depending on where you live. We live in the desert and things dry very quickly. If you live in a humid climate it will take longer to dry. There is no one right answer...sorry. :( A heat tool can be used to speed up drying times for most mediums as well.

I’ve used it on my collages to edge the papers and blend it in. However, despite following advice on videos,(not yours) it looks unnatural thick and horrible it’s ruined my collages🤦‍♀️
