Who would've thought that Stan Hansen, one of the most feared men ever in wrestling, would be like...the nicest guy in the world? I'd love to have a beer with Stan.

I was working on a home down in Daytona Beach Florida . One of the guys on the crew claimed to be Stan Hansen . He really did resemble him and was a big guy . Of course this was in 2005 so I really couldn’t tell. This guy stayed drunk and High on the job . I’m glad I saw this video and heard his real voice so I would know the truth .

Both Stan Hansen and Brody got deep into their ring characters and were menacing in the ring,, but in real life Hansen is the nicest guy.... I saw a video of his match against Andre....he was taking it to Andre... (not something you saw very often on those days.) Great match.

I love these shoot interviews with Hansen. He is so much different than his in ring persona. He seems like someone's uncle you could sit on the porch with and swap stories with and just talk about life with.

I was a 10 year old kid who just buried his father, when I first saw this man wrestle in Amarillo TX. He would stomp a mud hole in you and walk it dry. So glad to see you made through the tough shit of wrestling. God bless you stan.

Stan Hansen is the man and as were guys like Bruiser Brody, Dr. Death, Terry Gordy, Vader etc. etc. these guys embodied what was pro wrestling. No bullshit, No crying, just whipped asses and that's what I want to see in wrestling is hard hitting, smash mouth wrestling. I'm not very high on too many new school pro wrestlers because today it's more like a ballet and no psychology. Now, I'm not saying that about everyone and everything, but lots of what I'm exposed to loses me, I can't get invested into it like I do say watching Terry Gordy & Stan Hansen vs. Kawada & Tenryu or Hansen & Brody vs. Jumbo & Tenryu or Misawa vs. Kobashi.. you get what I'm trying to say? I also liked watching highly technical stuff with amazing story telling like Bret Hart, Great Muta, or Rock N Roll Express, Jerry Lawler... these guys were and are masters of their craft. I think Hannibal reminds me lots of Mike Awesome or a Stan Hansen, Or Brody not saying a rip off, I'm saying in the same vein, a big smash mouth agile wrestler... Why Hannibal is not in WWE or NJPW is a mystery because I think he's the best big man wrestler out there at the moment not in a major company. I hope they get their shit together and snatch him up. Thanks for this interview, it looks like the best Stan Hansen shoot I have seen yet, seems to go in to detail which he did not do in his others as Stan isn't much of a talker lol. Thanks

I hear you but they worked a shoot style that had nothing in the way of psychology . Thats why some , especially Stan Hansen , never made it big in the states . Brody could work American style if he wanted to and Vader would more often but wasn't as good at story telling as most would have liked . Terry Funk is the one that had it all .

Yes In Japan it was pro wrestling but I didn't get to see a lot of NJPW but ajpw was great thanks to KZfaq because they had some classics. Gotch went to Japan because of wrestling and the states wanted more showmanship with their wrestling. I can't watch today's modern wrestling either because it's really performance art and showmanship.

Audience in Japan are fussy, capable to tell good staff from fake. Hansen was genuinely popular in the country as he was seen a wrestler who never pulled punche (or right arm), and spared no energy for each and every match, all to entertain his fans. Good to see him well and healthy, after nearly three decades of absence.
