I just watched the movie on Hulu. Now it made sense to me when Stan said he wrote this song as a response to the movie. The movie is about the author who wrote the book Caste. Very interesting.

While the Official Video is Good showing the natural beauty of NZ's scenery and locations of Stan;s ancestral home the Live version gives you an insight into this man's talent, vocal ability but also the production, BV's, musicians etc. of this empowering spine tingling, heartfelt waiata (song), definitely a step up. checkout his latest release Maori Ki Te Ao or Amazing Grace, Ultralight Beam, Don't ream It's Over, Bigger, TUA, He Kakano Ahau, New Light, Inside Out etc

You need to watch the story of Stan walker and his family history. He has no stomach. Removed because of cancer and a gene that runs through his whole family. The fact that his can sing the way he does is inspiring

This is something really special isn't it. Most of the lyrics are repeated in their native tongue (I think) but please Saeed try and watch the video of this he made for the film Origin. Stan has no stomach, it was removed surgically due to cancer. He didn't think he would be able to sing again, as gut breathing is vital to singing success. Stan taught himself how to get back to his "usual way of singing and range" and therefore is even more phenomenal and spectacular that he can deliver songs like this.
