What people don't understand is there wasn't a huge gap between a Cadillac and a rolls Royce in those days. A 1957 Eldorado Brougham was 12 grand vs 10 grand for a rolls. The Rolls didn't even offer the options that came standard on the brougham.

Electriccock. The Rolls Royce not only cheaper but far better, it did not need the few options you got on the Cadillac to make up for the poor handling bad brakes etc.
