Ruth is a community organizer and a human rights activist focusing on grassroots democracy, gender-based violence and sorcery-related violence in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Kissam serves as the director for the PNG Tribal Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works in areas of maternal health, education and gender issues. She is also the program manager for the Senisim Pasin, a three-year national campaign designed to change cultural attitudes toward women in PNG.

The speaker should make a balanced view, not only in the rural areas. In the city, the capital NCD, thats not the same. The urban and proffessional society is changed, there are more female corporate leaders than men as well. I was with the Bank of PNG when in Port Moresby, my department had 4 female bosses and 1 male boss of which I reported to 2 females. PNG is now lookin at more female leaders in the country as well.
