This would be useful to measure overhead obstructions like pipes, cable trays, ducting etc.

What a total waste of money on nothing but a gadget for a gadgets sake. Use a tape measure like everyone else does, by the time its set up to use anyone with half an ounce of brain matter could have measured and done the calculations needed and been on to the next thing.

bit harsh don't you think? i expect there are probably some areas of a build inaccessible to a tape measure and for the purposes of documenting the progress of a build and communicating with clients/architects this tool looks pretty good once its all setup. not sure of how my fingers would be at aligning the image though, maybe if it zooms in to the image

Ignorant people how have no clue what are they talking about, I wish I knew this technology before, you have no clue how many times I have to try reaching unaccessible facades, roof parapets, high ceilings skylights, to measure and calculate dimensions. Leica has a similar device for $5500, so this is a steal if it works as intended and accuracy is between 2"/100' or less. Trolls are wonderful
