I love your videos. You just make everything seem so simple. You have got me motivated to want to build something. I got the wire & things that you suggested in my ebay cart, ready to checkout as soon as I get everything in there, I will. But you just do such a fantastic job. I can't wait to get my other wire (all I got is 1 roll of 26g Kanthal & it's actually from the same place from your suggestions.) But I followed your link to order (1 of the pliers link doesn't work anymore, in case you want to know stuff like that). But yeah, you do a really outstanding job. I like your videos better than any other I've see for coil building tutorials. Truly Outstanding! clap, clap, clap :)

I have tried this build a few times, Everytime I attempt it my frames always cave in, even though I use the mini paper clips and go slow, maybe it's because I'm not using a hard drill, but I seriously try to use as little tension as possible and they still cave in, but the off chance all goes well and I end up with a semi-decent length of staggered fused staple wire when I go to wrap my coil the ribbon wire flips on it's side within the frames... If it's possible to maybe do a small video on what can go wrong and little pointers to try and avoid these mistakes, I have the same problem with trying to do multi-cored fused claptons, every thing eventually starts caving in, it's extremely frustrating because it starts out so well. I really appreciate what you do and thanks for taking the time to read this! 🤙🤙🤙

First I want to thank you for doing these exotic coil builds, you do them up close and personal so that we can see actually what's happening to the wire. There are a lot of Builders out there with tutorials however, yours are up and close. So thank you very much. I have a question why are you using a hand drill? Is it a nostalgic thing, or is it so you can have more control over it? I'm just curious. Thanks again, Jimmy

@SherlockHohms 6 жыл бұрын
Carlton East welcome back buddy! As for the ribbon, make sure the prep is as clean as possible. Clean cuts, razor straight etc. make sure they are nice and tight with no slack and use stabilization ever inch if you have to. Start with a higher gauge if you’re really struggling. Once you get the fundamentals down then you can work into the smaller stuff
@carltoneastoutdoors

Sherlock Hohms cheers. Back when I started no one used paperclips. That's very smart btw. But what I were doing before is using tape on the end to keep them together and Clapton from there. Also I Clapton very close and I see what you mean about the slight movements. I will try it all your way. Thanks for the advice

New to building these complex coils. Every time I try to stagger the Clapton the core 28g wire breaks off at the Chuck. Bout 6 times now. I've tried not tightening the Chuck so much. I have a 1oz weight on my staggering tool (too much)
@StaelTek
@StaelTek 6 жыл бұрын
i build these pretty often, due to have a more "relaxed" throw compared to aliens. if you have trouble making these, here is what i do: only stagger one of the frames (for example 26ga with 36 or 38ga) with an RDA or a small weight to make the O-ring for staggering and 2 pieces of .4 ribbons that i fold over half-way on my swivels. then take to two frames (make sure they are 100% straight) and line everything up. take a small piece of 36 (or higher gauge) wire at the end that goes to the drill and bind them all together (make sure they are tight and even) in that way, i have a MUCH easier time making these coils on full speed on the drill and no need to paperclips or anything like that. if this could help anyone, let me know. again, not saying that his tutorial are very much harder or wrong, i just say how i do it to save time. (and yes, the half-staggered part is not that noiticable at all, but makes it easier to follow the groove)

First off, I really appreciate the video. Thank you for the time and energy. I just have one question: let me preface with this: I'm really new at this. Anyways, here's the question: with such small gauges how do you see the spaces to fuse? Is there like an eyepiece you're using? Also, maybe mention that we need paperclips! This ruined me

Month old comment but If your still struggling with claptons and your not already doing this then try 34awg or 36awg for the wrap I got advised to use it for my aliens and found it really easy (in comparison to 32g), it's not a huge size difference but it just wraps easier I tried 32 awg again recently (ran out of thinner stuff) and couldn't make a plain clapton again, while the thinner stuff is that much easier, I can get away with glancing at yt builds while making them That (34/36 awg fur the wrap) and a swivel set up (size 4/5 I think) and it gets easier fast

I can tell you it is VERY VERY aggrivating to build. Well, the wrapping is aggrivating, but everything else not so much. I ordered a pulse 22 rda and its getting shipped today, i think im gonna try it on that when it gets here. Ill let you know in a couple days what the business is with it.

I just made one with all SS wire and 28g staggered with 36g with 10/.5 ribbon fused with 38g. I'm going for a LOW OHM like. 1 or around there But I'm wondering if I can get it LOW with a Single coil, its going in the TM 24 PRO. Do you or anyone known what IDmm and amount of wraps it will take. The mother F@#$%& took me for EVER. I didn't use paper clip's I just got all of the ribbon in order the supper glued the ends and wrapped a shit tun of I think 38 all a long the whole ribbon to keep it together and only put the 28gStaggered &ribbon in the chuck and only put the ribbon in/on the swivel and left the 28staggered floating. I'm def going to try it you're way Next time. Thanks for the video and any feedback

I gave up on those little weights to space my claptons. It always twisted into eachother. What i do now is, make a regular clapton but stop in the middle of my wire. Then take the last bit of the clapton wire with some pliers, spin my drill in opposite direction for 2 seconds, then stretch that clapton wire to the end, and there you go, a long piece of evenly spaced clapton :D Then when i fuse everything together i can run my drill at a high speed because the spacing is perfectly even :D

Keyser Söze yes yes it is a staple staggered fused clapton
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 7 жыл бұрын
Keyser Söze haha here we go. grammatically and logically SSFC doesn't make sense. A) It's not a fused clapton, it's a framed staple variation. B) the word Staggered (adjective) in front of framed staple describes the framed staple as of the staggered variety. And C: Why call a framed staple a fused clapton? some call it an SSFC but in my opinion that name is misleading and incorrect. A staggerton ( staggered stapled fused clapton) is a multi cored, staggered fused clapton. Swapping the words staggered and staple makes it a completely different coil and a framed staple at that? One that's not even a fused clapton? I don't think so. Nor do I like, agree, or acknowledge it. Thanks for watching guys!

Hey, whoa, I'm not arguing.. A method i figured out is using a spacer thats wrapped 1 wrap infront of fuse wire, and 2 wraps behind, and lock it with a cordlock tight to the core, and keep fuse wire at a 90 degree, but with 1 wrap in front its not crucial with the angle. i also make 1 long piece and split it in two with scissors to avoid flattening the core, to have each frame as identical to the other. Perfect staggers every time mate. Best of luck!

As I said, I just came on the idea of usin it this way, because u got a brake on it, if u buy a reel with a brake on it hehe. Maybe interesting for u to do things easier? I dunno :3, just a nice idea :) Oh and dont forget, u could fix this fishing reel on some wood or something too and let it move by itself :P

awesome tutorial dude but the video is just sending the wrong message and highly irresponsible,as far as i can see from the video you didn't use an ohm meter to check the resistance or check if the atomizer had a short, now you may have well done it off camera but it's not what the video shows, what if someone orders a mech mod and some wire off the internet and watches this tutorial following along exactly then ends up venting the battery and burning their house down or blowing their hand off?? no offence just there's enough bad press already with people venting batteries because they know nothing of battery safety or ohms law and i think with 15k subscribers so quite a big following you should be setting an example in your videos. just my 2 cents

Traceur 2k don’t be so sensitive. I’m not a baby sitter. It’s up to each individual to use common sense and be safe.

wow... not being sensitive dude i know you ain't a babysitter but not everyone has common sense, some people just jump in without knowing what they're doing cause they don't know any better, at the end of the day as a content creator you have certain responsibilities especially when handling something that is potentially dangerous, maybe you shouldn't be on youtube if you can't take constructive criticism. as i said it's an awesome and helpful video, i even subscribed after watching it. but as i said it was just my 2 cents not being sensitive not being a jerk just pointing out an observation.

Protip, don't ask for subs at the start of the video, it comes off as douchey. You ask at the end when the viewers have seen your content and can actually make a decision.
